So I hit my goal for like 3.5 seconds. LOL

As soon as I entered my new weight, which is 129(!) I changed my goal to 125. I think that for now this is a realistic goal. Especially since I am giving myself just about 2 months to hit it.

I'm trying to not overdo it. Right now I'm averaging about 2lbs a week, but I think that's only because I'm jump starting my body. I know from my past attempts that such consistent weight loss doesn't last forever. I am, in fact, okay with that.

If I hit my ultimate goal before July, that'll be wonderful. It'll give me time to learn how to maintain the weight. I always said that secretly I've wanted to get down to 115. I don't think I want that goal anymore. I think that would be too much to lose, and that I might look a bit sickly.

While looking at myself in the mirror last night, I thought of the "Human Skeleton." I don't know if anyone remembers her. She was like this super skinny woman who was always on the cover of those terrible tabloids in the 90s. I don't want to look like that. I want to look somewhere between what I look like now and that. I feel like I look healthy, not sallow or sickly. I just want to lose a few vanity pounds, so that a pair of jeans that I bought a few months ago fit.

Alright, I have to get to work. Hope everyone's weekends go well!

I know what you mean about the 'vanity' weight. I started at just over 150lbs, which isn't obese but certainly a bit overweight (some people asked why I wanted to lose weight because I wasn't fat... umm, because I was heading in that direction!). I think 135 is a great place for me to be health wise, but I certainly wouldn't mind to drop to 130! At this point, I don't need to, but I want to :)

Congrats on hitting your goal of 129! Very happy for you!!! Ditto about the vanity pounds - but the outfits are so much more enjoyable and summer is the perfect time to reap the rewards. :-) Sensible, doable rate of loss and more likely to maintain it than spike up or yo yo. Very proud of your approach - keep up the good work. :) And really like what you said about walking every evening. Will try that tonight because of you - thanks for the inspiration!!! Hope your weekend goes well too!!!

PS - I've definitely taken your advice on the walking bit! I've been tracking it on endomondo.com (I forget if I've told you about this.) So far, since Monday, I have walked 20 miles! (And biked 11 and ran 11 too). It probably sounds lame, but getting to track myself is super motivating. I love looking at the maps, seeing my distance and calories add up, and looking at it all the data in every way possible on fun little charts and graphs. (It even keeps track of how many burgers you've worked off!) Either way, this is ridiculously fun :) Thanks for the tip!

Congrats on meeting your first goal! and good luck getting to the next one! I know what you mean by secretly wanting to get to a weight. I always had that too. But you get to a point that it's more about what you see than the number. I'm not where I want to be yet but it's a lot more about things firming up then being a human skeleton. I hope this week goes as well for you as last week did!
