Aaron - Hate to hear that. I'm on a tight budget too. This may not help you today but for next time you can shop - I find eggs to be a great value for protein. For veggies - fresh cabbage and frozen spinach. I scan the supermarket sale papers to see what is on special this week. Lots of times I'll buy a big piece of meat (like whole pork tenderloin) and cut it up and freeze.

I ALWAYS buy whatever meat is on sale and same thing for veggies! I HATE paying full price for anything!!And yess eggs are always a low cost per serving...SO versatile...

I live on extremely tight budget but here are some ideas, I make a meal plan for 2 weeks (I get paid bi-weekly) anhelp reduce my bill as much as possible, I also go to Safeway because I have a club card and I can get lots off my groceries. d then I make my grocery list from that, then check for coupons that will I buy my staples (bread, meat and produce etc) and I try to buy extra of everything I know wont go rotten. I know you are on Atkins so the bread/pasta thing is out but there are tons of good frozen fruits and veggies that are cheap that can help, eggs are great, and most of my meat is bought in bulk, cut up into smaller portions and frozen. Check your paper or online and see if you can find coupons they honestly save a crap load!

Aaron, I have been living that way since I went back to school 2 years ago. It is tough but you do what you have to do, stick it out girl things will get better, just remember stock you hours with lots when you get the chance and then you only have to buy certain things the next time.

I'm right there with you, girl. Times are tough all over. All the friends above have made great suggestions and coupons are a great source. Remember, too, that if you can stack coupons if you have a store coupon and a mfg coupon...you can use them both on the same item. If you make out a menu, check online for mfg coupons before you go to the store...I actually have a dummy email and facebook page just for mfg emails, coupons, etc....takes a little time, but does save you a lot of money in the long run. I sure hope things get better for you soon! Keeping you in my prayers.
