Debbie Cousins's Journal, 27 December 2021

Hi, everyone. Yes, I'm still alive. Hope you all had a nice Christmas. We had 12 of us at my house. Lots of food, and lots of presents! I'm still "off the wagon," and eating whatever I want to. I have been praying that God would show me what He wants me to do for the New Year. I've gained back all but 16 of the 60 pounds I lost. I'm not miserable yet, but I'm headed in that direction. Back into the few 2x's that I didn't give away. Had to buy a couple of pairs of pants, though, because all I had were capris (below knee), and I was embarrassed to wear them when it was below freezing outside!

I've enjoyed my rotating Christmas tree. We had a scare where 50 lights blew out, and we didn't think we weren't able to get it to work with a replacement strand, but PTL we figured it out. I'm the kind of person who likes to get all the Christmas stuff put away on or around January 1st. When it's over, it's over. Going to have to get started on that soon.

My new "job" has been going very well. They had some special ones leading up to Christmas, and I was averaging $70/day for 2-3 hour of work. Back to $30-$50 for one to two hours now. I was able to save up enough money to buy LED light fixtures for the kitchen (2), the laundry room, and the entryway (2), and pay an electrician to install them. I also had enough money to buy all the Christmas gifts (about $1,100 for the 12 people).

I finished reading the Bible through the second time this year. This is the first time I've ever done it twice. Might try that again in the coming year. This year, I read it once in the King James version and once in The Message version. I'm debating on whether to start with the New King James version or the New American Standard version. Those are the only other two versions that have the audio with them on BibleGateway.com. I like to read and listen at the same time because it helps me to stay focused.

Looking forward to getting back in the game and catching up with everyone again. Hoping I'll find that many of you have "stayed the course" and experienced great victories in 2021. May 2022 be a victorious year for us all, in accomplishing the goals we set for ourselves!

Going to try to ease back into things - maybe get back to posting. I MIGHT start drinking water again! I don't think I've had a sip since my 6-month challenge ended on June 27th!

The New American Standard is about my favorite version. I bought a chronological Bible, but haven't gotten in gear and read it, but the concept is a good one. May 2022 be a blessed year for you and your loved ones.

You should watch the videos on the Bibleproject.com website. they are AMAZING. I started watching the videos on all the books of the bible and fell in love with it.

So good to hear from you. I checked your site many times even though I wasn't journaling since I did NOT stay the course. After these 6 months of only a couple of false starts, this is day 19 of being off sweets except for 2 cookies. We will both see what the New Year brings in our will and discipline, but I wish you the Lord's best in every area of your life. Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas season and a great New Year wished for all! I am staying on course pretty good and will end the year weighing less then it started but of course would like to loose a stubborn 5 to 10 pounds this next year.My daughter helped me a lot on this journey and she often told me it is not so much about inspiration as it is determination and being healthy!

@MonJoy, you've inspired me! I checked back to see what I weighed on this day last year, and I weigh 10 pounds less than a year ago. I've had quite a roller coaster in between, but the final result was a loss. Good to hear from my old friends, @Anna Bear54, @shirfleur 1, @Draglist, @Snowwhite100. Gonna go and post my official first post of the new year.

Happy New Year! Glad to see you really did end on a positive Debbie. A small start is what we need to stay on track. To many times we make all sorts of commitments/resolutions that are way to hard to keep. Better to make small changes and stick to them! So more water is one big one for me.
