FitOKay's Journal, 09 September 2014

So... about all I have good to say about the house we finally got to repossess today is that it always could have been worse. Right?

I mean, besides trashing the yard to the extent that it was declared a public health hazard, they put a hole in the new shower that we bought and installed last summer when we remodeled the bathroom (and the hole had to be intentional, you would understand if you were there). They glued crap down to the new countertops we put in last summer... including black painted paneling. And in the words of my best friend, "I'm sorry but it looks like they took a jack hammer to the kitchen backsplash, I just don't see any way to salvage that. It's going to have to be replaced." Then there's the window they left open so that there is mold growing on the entire side of the kitchen wall- just going to have to pull out all the drywall, sanitize the area and replace the drywall. Also, roaches. Now we lived there for 5 years and NEVER saw a roach. EVER. PERIOD. How do you infest a place that had nothing for you to work with starting out with roaches in a year? Needless to say we super bombed the place (and it didn't blow up, contrary to what the instructions warn about...).

So yeah... that is exciting.

Idk even where to go with this journal tbh. Just a little ticked atm so I think I'm just going to sign off here.

Have a good night everyone.

Oh no! I don't understand some people, just awful. At least you've finally got the house back and don't have to deal with those people anymore. Good luck

That sounds awful. It could have been worse if they were hoarders or if the toilet was clogged but they used it anyway. Hang in there.

At least you get to repossess your house. Just do it up and you will have the choice to either rent it out again or sell it.

It feels like a personal attack when someone treats your home that way. When we turn the keys to our property over to another person, we hope they will see the care (and sweat) we've put into it. When they treat it poorly it feel like a kick in the gut!

As a real estate agent, I read your message but I think you've won....you've got your house back. It's only bricks, mortar and money. You can make good and you have possession. The scumbags that have been evicted have lost. Damage is just that. Chalk it down to experience and move on Kay. You've got bigger fish to fry x Take care x
