How has everyone's day been?
Ours has been good. Second week of homeschool. We are studying about biomes in Science. We did the desert last week and are on the rainforest this week. Fun ;-)
I biked for an hour, so that was nice =)
Not much really going on today, been a nice change from the last few weeks that had a flurry of activity. Tomorrow will be interesting, we can finally take possession of the house we rent out- kind of afraid of what we are going to find out there. The sheriff was finally able to give us a day they could be out there (required by law here when an eviction is court ordered). The renters last paid rent (late) in May and we are just now legally able to get the property back in September- a little ridiculous when there was a contract lease that was up July 1st. I get the court ruling being necessary during lease periods, but I will never understand them being necessary and not allowing self evictions in a state when non renewal notice is not required when a lease is up. If the landlord was required in the state to give notice of non renewal of lease I'd even understand there, but here we aren't- so when the lease is up, it's just up. Requiring to go through the courts in this situation when the lease is up just allows tenants to screw over landlords. It does nothing fairness wise for the tenant, because the lease is up there is only one possible ruling. All it does is drag the cost and time factor out for the landlord.
Anyways, hopefully we will have the property fixed back up and this whole situation behind very soon. The stress from it was insane and the monetary loss is going to pile up for a while more, but we are at the end of the stretch dealing with this- THANK YOU GOD!!!!
