I keep disappearing...sorry about that. I had a pretty unpleasant encounter with one of my husband's coworkers on St. Paddy's day that got me pretty depressed. The guy was drunk and hanging out with the friends that I was meeting out there (hubby had to work). My buddies decided to get some gyros at a restaurant across the street from the bar we had been hanging out at, and my hubby's coworker follows us over there a few moments later and takes the booth behind ours. I had a friend with me who speaks Spanish. This guy was speaking Spanish to one of his friends on the phone, and the friend of mine who knows Spanish - goes from having a good time to completely pissed off. "Your buddy is an asshole" she says to the guy that we had met out there - the mutual friend - the guy connecting us to this prick. "Seriously. He's a dick.". I asked her what he said, but she wouldn't tell me. It took her a few more drinks to spit it out. The guy basically said "yeah, I was hanging out with my buddy, but now he's hanging with a couple of fat chicks...". RUDE. I had actually been excited to meet this fellow - my husband always said the guy was fun. I was nothing but nice to him when he was around, and...it just sucks. It's not like I don't give myself enough crap for it, you know? Sometimes I can't stand to look at myself in the mirror. Forget fitting rooms. There's no reason for a complete stranger to be so insensitive, and I hate that I let it get to me. I let it get to me for nearly a week, and I was in a really bad funk about it. But you know what? Eff that guy. I'll let his negativity be fuel for my fire. I joined the local gym yesterday - was there for an hour and half then and for two hours today. We do an annual float trip, and I'm hoping to be down to 195-205 by August. I'm going to try to stop drinking alcohol as an experiment to see if that helps out...I will def. keep ya'll posted on my progress.
