Happy Saturday! Yesterday was a whirlwind of a day! Too busy to make a good breakfast, I settled for a MiM with green tea. Had to go to see my doctor in a town an hour away b/c my ear canal was blocked and I have not been able to hear for a week. My ear canal is super tiny, and while cleaning my ears with q-tips last Friday, I must've accidently pushed the wax back too far. It totally covered my eardrum and I felt clogged like you wouldn' believe! They worked me in, thankfully! At the dr's appt, the nurse irrigated both ears -- and it was pretty intense - and gross. But, boy do I feel great NOW!! Doc advised no more q-tips for me -- stick with ear drops from now on. The salad bar we had prior to visiting the doctor's was good and quick.
We rushed home to meet with a couple we are counseling. They ended up staying until 1 am. Ugggh! I never did have the window of time to make dinner for Jim and I prior to their visit. So, I totally did not get in enough protein/fats/water yesterday. (I've never had my percentages so whangdoodled like that before!! Ever!!) Oh well. Today will be a better day.
Overall, the WL has been somewhat disappointing the last week or so. I've been as stuck as stuck can be. Just gonna push thru this hurdle and remain focused and positive. I've been here before -- a few times.
For now, I am thankful for sunny bouquet of daffodils on my desk; the privilege to hear--clearly again; the joy to pray for and support those who are really in distress; the reminder that God is in control and although some news I received yesterday caused me to hang my head in dispair I can still be thankful and I know God is sovereign and everything is sifted through His able hands; and when I cannot trace His hand I can trust His heart. (All things work together for the good for those who love God and are the called, according to His purpose. Romans 8:28) I am grateful for my husband. I am thankful for my wonderful job - and the appointment I had today. The woman was so excited and appreciative that we took 10 years off her "face" and repaired the tired, puffy eyes and dark circles, giving her a revitalized boost and greater confidence. I know what I am doing makes a difference from the inside out. Thank you for all the blessings, God --- I will not forget all Your goodness and mercy extended to me.
