Debbie Cousins's Journal, 07 July 2021

Just barely managed to keep calories under 2,000 today. Ate the ONE slice of cake (not really a very big one, at that). After having no sweets for basically two months, it was SOOO (UNenjoyably) sweet. I sent two big slices back home with my daughter (for her "husband"), and gave a big piece to my husband. It was made in a bundt cake pan, so there was no middle in it (which cut down on the calories, probably). There's still half of the cake left. I have it in the refrigerator, but will move some to the freezer tomorrow.

Today was an "I want to eat all day" kind of a day. I managed to make mostly good choices on what I had. Had cooked cabbage twice and watermelon twice. No "moving experiences" today, so not sure what will be happening on the scale tomorrow morning. NOT looking forward to finding out. Also had a VERY lazy day on my water drinking. Only got in 6 bottles, and that took a lot of effort. The grandkids were here from 9:30 until 3:30, which always pushes me to have Diet Coke.

Gotta do better tomorrow - less eating, more water drinking, stay away from the cake (maybe freeze a couple of slices to take to my mother-in-law on Sunday, and maybe to a couple of the other ladies in the church.

Had some meatloaf (about 2/3 of a serving) and about a half a cup of Bob Evans Mashed Potatoes with some cooked cabbage for dinner. Needed to finish those things up so we could move on to the roast beef that needs to also be eaten.

Hopefully, I'll have a moving experience sometime during the night, and will get a break on weigh-in in the morning. Right now, it's not looking like it will be good. DO have to go out to Physical Therapy tomorrow and then to BJ's. When I'm running around, I tend to not eat as much. We also have several dining gift cards from my birthday and our anniversary, and even some left from Christmas. We should probably go out to dinner ONE night in this next week.

New start tomorrow morning. Hope it will be a moderate eating day - sometimes they just turn out that way, and sometimes I want to eat everything in the house! There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason why somedays are very easy and on other days I struggle all day. Guess I'll know what kind of day I've drawn in about 12 hours from now.

Time for bed. PT at 9am, and I have to wash my hair and do the dishes before I leave for that. Then, I will go to BJ's to get a few things, and then at 12:15, I have my semi-weekly Bible Study by phone with my best friend in CA. So far, we've studied, Sarah, Rahab, Abigail, and just started Esther. There are ten Women of the Bible in the book It will keep us busy for awhile.

OH, I was supposed to be going to bed, right? ok. Half an hour past my bedtime already.

Night all.

Not preaching the "No Diet Coke", but I noticed for me personally that when I would drink "diet" artificially sweetened beverages that I was hungrier and began craving more and more sweets. Switched to predominantly plain water and cut way back on Splenda consumption... hunger and sweet cravings have all but vanished! Just something to think about and see if there is any corralation! Sounds like you have a busy day tomorrow... Sleep Well😴
