I reached a mini-goal today ... very exciting and unexpected. I was sure that when I stepped on the scale today I would be the same or more than I was yesterday. Not because I haven't been faithful in my eating or exercise but only because I've had a steady downward trend and I have been trying to prepare myself for the next fluctuation and/or plateau. I am only 6.2 lbs away from my half-way goal, then it will be only 8 more lbs before I am at/under 200 lbs.

For me this is kind of a danger zone. I must remember not to deprive myself so I can get to the "goals" faster. I must remember to pay attention to my hunger cues and eat when I am hungry. I must remember that I am NOT on a diet but that I am on a journey of changing my relationship with food, changing my thinking, my self-talk, how I care for and nurture myself physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. I am fortunate that my mother is on this journey with me. We commute to work together so we talk a lot about our respective journeys. But it is difficult. Not the talking but the changing.

But still ... I am STOKED!!! Because I gain and lose, gain and lose ... not a mere 10 lbs but much more I often have felt like I am always playing catch up. I need to change that too. I have not "failed" before because I lost and then re-gained ... it has all been part of the journey, the learning experience, and it is okay to be who I am ... at whatever I weigh at the time.

Sorry, I've gone on and on. It helps me to write it down, to be visible. Enough blathering for now ... onto my COFFEE and the last day in my work week!! Thanks for listening!!

YAY! congrats on reaching your mini goal. I knew you could do it by the end of the week and here you are! Thats great that you can talk to your mom. It definitely helps to have that support from someone who can relate to you. I love how you are so self-aware. You know what to do, you know how to succeed, and you're going to do it :]
