skin removal is something you have to really weigh the pros and cons for yourself. others experiences, while valuable, don't speak to your mental and emotional wants and needs. I have many friends who did skin removal, some love it some hate it. one of my friends is a year post op full body skin removal surgery and she still has a raging infection. the unknown is what is scary. you will need a major support system home with you to help do the daily routines as you won't be able to bend or twist really and the binders are very restrictive. I personally have a pooch too and I have contemplated removal but I'm scared of going under for such a huge surgery. I have a son and that's who I live for, eff it if someone doesn't enjoy my body and eff my negative thoughts about my body!! do what makes you happy and confident, we all walk diff roads girl.

Ok we’re not 20 years old anymore. And your not rising out of the pool in the movie Fast Times at Ridgemont High so chill for a moment. You look great and you’ll look better in a year, maybe, so give it some time and rock on? I concur with the previous post!!!!! ✌️

In my 20’s I was 237 pounds. I dont think there’s any problem with working to be the best you can be no matter what your age. I’ve been working on what I can change, just curious about the skin that I can’t. I agree the risks are probably not worth it.

Personally, I would think 3Xs. You would need a line on a really great surgeon & hospital. Plenty of hollywood stars got botched surgery that ruined their looks. Some people try to save $$$ by choosing a cheaper option. This is not something you can save $$$. As others have cautioned, surgery come with risks like infections. From my own experience, post OP recovery without the proper support is painful. Make sure someone is by your side within the first 24 hours of recovery. You can be so weak, you won't be able to lift a cup of water. Hospital staffing is thin before pandemic, now thinner. I was cleared for work by my surgeon. But my body wasn't ready. I suffered for a month, ended up quitting b/c the surgery took too much of a toll & I returned to work too soon to a high pressured situation. Where you(your home) have your recovery needs be santized & cleaned like the hospital. Surgeries near abdomen makes one like an invalid until recovery is 80%. Have a good pain management plan, makes a difference for recovery. My friend cooked all her family meals ahead and froze them, so they could continue to eat hot healthy meals. 3 of her 4 kids were responsible and and split household chores. Personal care was done by her husband. Have a good recovery plan in place, if you decide to do the surgery.Find out how long it takes recover from the surgery you need, then add another week. you are young & have a pretty healthy lifestyle, so recovery time would be decent.

No shellfish 6 months after the surgical site heals. Your body will thank you for it. I ate lots of food with vitamin E and even rub the surgical scars with E lotions ( after the stitches completely healed.)

Belle thanks for commenting on this. It was a tough decision, but I actually have the surgery scheduled for 2 weeks out. Everything I’ve read says it’s a tough recovery so I have planned a lot ahead. I’m a huge planner:) my job is wonderful. I have time off and work from home which will make it easier. Your tips are wonderful. I’ve never heard about shellfish? What does that do?

It's foods to avoid after your body goes through traumas or for some after giving birth, passed down for generations. If you have a cut or surgery, you heal faster when avoiding shellfish. It's like pregnant women should avoid cold cuts. I listen to my elders, they know what they're talking about. If they're wrong, you miss out eating your favorite food for a few months. Certain foods influences on how your body heals, ups the chances of infection. Eat 100% clean, you'll heal faster. Talk to your doctor about probiotics after surgery to rebalance your gut. Antibiotics & surgery throws off your immune system. Like I said you are young. You'll heal faster.
