From one extreme to the next. Yesterday, I could barely eat. I forced myself to get almost 1200 calories.
I hope no one minds hearing about personal things going on in my life. Yesterday, my stepSister called me and said that I had to get there right away, the police had my stepDad. He had been driving and went up over a sidewalk, under a overpass. No one was hurt and he wasn't hurt, but he had just forgot where he was. So, I went over there and the police picked her up to take her to get him and the car. They wouldn't let both of us go. When he came back, he was just so confused. He's not going to be able to drive any more. It was so scary and I felt so sorry for my stepSister. Her brothers don't help her, so I guess I will be helping her more. He's been a wonderful stepDad and I love him and my stepSister, so it's the least I can do.

He hasn't been diagnosed with alhziemers, but that's what it seem like to us. The police, think that's what it is too. He's going to be 87 on Monday.

Hang in there! I took my mom's car keys away from her about a year ago after a slight fender bender. She still brings it up every chance she gets but anymore it is just a reaction to any instance where she might need to go somewhere. For instance, she told my sister that she "couldn't pick her up at the airport because K took my car." The fact that she never, ever drove out of town, much less to the airport, didn't seem to factor in. Mom is now in an assisted living center after a slight stroke last summer. She is 89. I wish I had a sister like yours.

Aww, sorry to hear about your stepdad. That must be so scary for him! And for you and your stepsister. He is fortunate to have you both to help look after him. (((((hugs for you all)))))

I am so glad that your stepdad wasn't hurt but I am sure he must have been scared. You take such good care of everybody so be sure you take good care of yourself, too! You are definitely worth it! Keep up your eating so you can stay healthy. Lots of love...

Awe... how scary for you all, especially him. I'm so sorry for you. I'm sure he is not too happy with the whole thing, either. Poor guy. Thank goodness he nor anyone else was hurt! Chin up... it'll be alright. :) xoxo
