The scale is hovering at the same 1 or 2 pounds, but I know that I am just stalled as my body adjusts to such a shock and I'm okay with that. When I did this over 10 years ago I went through this same "dead" period following induction, where I really felt like I was going to quit. Thankfully I stuck with it, and was able to shed 90 pounds. I know this is the same period, just 10+ years later and only 40 pounds to lose. Once my body realizes that it isn't starving due to the lack of carbs and their effect on the body, and that it is still receiving the sustenance I need, I know it will fall back in line and the weight will drop once again.

The good news? I am feeling better every day. The scale may not reflect it, but I can tell that I am on course as I just feel better and that is a HUGE part of the battle for me. I physically feel better, I mentally feel better, and that's all I am asking for. Life is good today!

I'm stuck at the same point you are. Around 10 lbs lost and the scale wont budge. Good to hear that this will pass and the weight will come off! Sounds like we started induction at the same time.

I was wondering if you had headaches during induction and if so what you did for them other than added salt

Cricky, stick with it- it will work! I was talking to my mom about it yesterday, and she too reminded me that this was how my body responded the last time too. Once it got jump started, I think I lost 40ish pounds in about 5 months, and I was THRILLED. Are you at least starting to feel better? More energy? Just all over better? I promise you, if I can do it, so can you! :) Maxie, I have had some nagging headaches this week actually. Nothing terrible, but nagging. It seems to me they are mostly in the morning or early evening, and I haven't done anything other than ibuprofen. I know that there are some people who cut out their caffeine during induction, which is not really recommended for the diet or the body in general if you are used to consuming it. Did you cut caffeine out or lower your intake drastically? If you aren't a caffeine connoisseur in general, you may try a bit of diet soda (NOT caffeine free)or some Excedrin Migraine (it has a bit of caffeine in it), as caffeine is known to help with headaches. Normally, I'd say eat a piece or two of chocolate, but that's probably how we both got into trouble and ended up on Atkins! :) Good luck and let me know what helps you, as I like hearing different solutions to problems.

I want to congratulate you on your weight loss! I think it's amazing you trying this again after 10+ years. I would definitely suggest alternating your calories every day. Day 1: 1500 kcal, Day 2: 2000. That helps the body to also get out of its starvation mode too. I've done that when I hit dead periods. I got stuck around 188, but after adjusting it helped.
