A couple of strange but nice weight-loss moments today. The first was in a store where I mentioned in passing to the assistant that I'd lost almost 7 stone since April and she immediately yelled it out to her friend, across the entire store. Pretty unrestrained behaviour for England, so I was a bit taken aback. Then I just sort of stood there sheepishly, while all the other customers also came over to have a look at me. They were all hugely impressed and complimentary but it still felt incredibly odd to be the focus of so much examination and wonderment! The second moment came later in the day, when I was still out shopping. Unexpectedly, I caught sight of my hips in an oddly placed mirror -- and I actually didn't recognise them as mine, because they were so much smaller than the hips in my head. Really disconcerting! Losing weight is great, of course, but it also has a real knack of continually catching me unawares.

This is exactly the reason I won't tell anyone in person the 'number' - when they ask 'how much' I just say 'not as much as I gained' and leave it at that - to reveal 100+lbs turns me into a bit of a sideshow but the gawkers won't ante up the $1 to look :-) Mirror reflections are tough - a lot of boutiques angle them and I look taller and slimmer and mine all seem to be funhouse mirrors and I look short and dumpy.

bella I am short and dumpy.I can fix the dumpy but 4ft. 11" is what God gave me and I accept it.Star I cant wait to someone goes all gaga about my weight loss.And seeing less hip,tummy,arse,chin,thigh,arms or whatever is awesome!
