debbra's Journal, 06 December 2008

Saturday is here, and I'm feeling steady and ready to take on the "weekend challenge." It's always harder when I don't have my weekly routine of diet and exercise in place. On the weekends I have the kids' meals to deal with and my husband's. He's a great cook. Everyone always says how lucky I am, but it is tough sometimes. Sometimes I have to just get out of the kitchen entirely when he cooks in order to not be tempted. But he's a sweetheart, and he deserves his fun time.
I have to say, though, that I feel really strong heading into this weekend, as if no one will budge me from my good track. I'm just so pleased to have found this place for self-examination and self-therapy. I have some friends who are also trying to lose weight, and I've told them all about Fatsecret.
Tomorrow I'm going to an all-girl morning birthday breakfast for my friend. Now, these are skinny girls, most of them, who love to cook. In the past I've had a hard time resisting the food. Or I've left, having eaten almost nothing, and had a reaction where I basically pigged out. But I don't feel that I'll be tempted negatively. I feel really strong. I might even taste a few things and then come home and discuss it on here. Wish me luck. I'll definitely be back here tomorrow to check in and note my party experience.
