JovialJ's Journal, 13 July 2020

I have been a FS member since 2014 with varying degrees of success, taking long vacations from the site and having several new starts and struggles. Today I found a new low weight. There is part of me that wants to celebrate with something yummy like cookies, cake or ice cream. There is also a part of me that reasonably says why ruin a good record. At this point I have lost nearly 50 lbs. and I have 30 more to go. I have a realistic understanding that this process will take longer than a year and will be a lifetime exercise in food choice and awareness of reasonable portions. Additional daily exercise has not been much of this process and is a goal to include in my self-care. Today I do the happy dance at hitting a new low.

You are amazing and whatever you choose to do you are inspiring me. Right now weight has way too much power over me. Maybe this time I will be able to change our relationship.

There are other ways to reward yourself, and you should reward yourself. When I was in the losing phase of my diet, instead of rewarding myself with unhealthy treats, I would buy myself a present, something that is not food. Save the food treats for when you reach the maintenance phase. Just a suggestion. Congratulations on your milestone! 🙂
