Posture..not something I usually think about. I know that mine isn't that great. It never has been. I have a tendency to slouch. A side effect of leaving 8th grade with no boobs and going into 9th with DD's. They hide a little easier if you slouch.
However, I was looking in the mirror today and realized how bad it makes me look. When I stood up straight I looked much better, and slightly skinnier. So now I have a goal of retraining myself to stand up straight and not slouch. Easier said than done though because, since I've slouched for so long, it slightly hurts my back. I am sure that I will get used to it though. :)

Stretching helps the posture without the constant focus... it'll ease the pain in your back too. Although I am no expert, but the few times I've tried yoga, it made me feel less slouchy. They say that yoga makes you taller from the stretching too.

My grandmother slouched alot and to correct it she used a broomstick behind her shoulders and held the ends with her hands. The good thing with that is you could also get in some good squats while doing it.

Actually if you're up to it, doing barbell squats help your posture. The form you have to keep to support the bar pulls your shoulders back and you'll form muscles that'll keep your shoulders that way over time. Also, you will get some great thigh and butt muscles in the process. Win win!

I have the same problem as you only mine is a result of being the first girl in gr. 5 to develop. Yoga works, I do yoga twice a week and my posture is getting better!

It's so funny you mention posture because my doctor (chiropractor) and I were discussing it the other day. I'm short, but everyone thinks I'm taller than I am and I asked him why. He says it's my posture - the way I put my shoulders back and I hope my head up. It really can make a difference. in Yoga, my instructor used to always tell us to roll our shoulders back and open our chest. I think that stuck with me and I do that to make sure that I'm standing straight. Congratulations on your great loss!

So it seems yoga is a good way to go. I am going to have to try and find a video I can do at home. Does anyone know of a good beginner one?
