jsfantome's Journal, 10 August 2013

For all of you weekend warriors who take weekends off (regarding your weightloss goals, or eating plans) you might want to skip this journal!

My body doesn't know the difference between SAT or Thurs!!! One thing I have learned - is that it requires effort to eat low carb, and switch your body into BURNING STORED FAT for fuel!!! So, why on earth would I want to flip that switch into the 'off' position!

Moreover, it can take anywhere from 2-14 days... to switch it back!

That's like repeating the last two weeks - just to get back to where I am right this second!

NO WAY!!!! I have worked hard these last two weeks to get into FAT BURNING MODE and I sure as heck don't want to screw it up!

I wrote down from memory what I used to do when things were working (way back in the beginning of this low carb journey):

Weigh In Every Other Day at Home - Record Once a Week here on the Site
Use Keto Sticks to measure Ketosis
Track Food Daily
Exercise (moderate/every other day) (at home exercises/daily)

I am off to the gym early this morning... then off to Walmart to try to find some new Keto Sticks!

Happy Weekend... Stay Focused!

For once I agree with you 100%. For some of us it has to be "all or nothing" and I am one of those people.

I certainly struggle more on the weekends than during the week, but absolutely agree that taking weekends off can truly stall weight loss & throw us off track. So, I'm ready to focus on this weekend right with you... one weekend day at a time! xoxox

There you go! Ages ago, before this journey began, the weekends were exactly what threw me off track. It was WAY too easy for me to begin to extend the weekends, beginning with Friday (day) and going on into Monday (day)....well, let's just go ahead and try to re-focus by Tuesday. Pretty soon, I was spending more time off-plan than on. If whatever WOE we're on is to be a true, long-term life change, then we've got to find a way to stay right on plan through the weekends. Every weekend can't be a special, off-plan occasion if we're going to be successful. Great job getting out to the gym this morning!!!

thanks Ladies! After the gym, hubby and I went to the beach for the afternoon. What fun...and so many little kids playing - it really made my heart happy to 'people watch' today!!!

I heard the keto sticks were not always accurate. I agree with the weekend. I was going to take today off..not from diet..just from gym. It didn't work. lol I felt guilty so off I go!! lol

Jazzy - for some they aren't always accurate. I generally have not had any problems w/ using them. Guess my ketones like to be Loud & Proud! LOL!

I cant get mine to register at all. I use them at several different times of the day and they have never registered more than trace levels at best.
