Thank you both! Unfortunately because of the work I do with the ACLU and assorted LGBTQ+ groups, my family and business are often targeted by trolls, bloggers, etc. It's a hassle but it's not unexpected. I have a great lawyer and we've successfully shut down a lot of the stuff that comes my way. Have a great day! ❤️ 

There's some stuff I'm going to say here that I think some members could use to hear. There is no reasonable expectation of privacy on sites like this. Even the things that you set to private can still be seen and viewed by admins. Should a lawsuit happen, those admins can go into your accounts and turn over all relevant info to legal authorities. It's one thing to express an opinion. You don't like me, my pictures, my food, my business, etc - that's an opinion. The second you start throwing around allegations like, cyberstalking, hacking, blackmail, etc.what you're talking about are federal crimes and those are allegations. If you can't provide proof, there are legal, quantifiable penalties for that. That becomes a defamation case. And that becomes a defamation case that I will win.

Thank you for sharing Atriel❣️ When I tell members they can post to their own profiles, I would hope they have good judgement on what is appropriate and what it not. In addition to the Fatsecret terms of use, we also have limitations with the First Amendment. Defamation is NOT protected. Atriel, you are absolutely right❣️ I am in the same boat as you. A Fatsecret member accused me (and others) of stalking and hacking her social media account. Good thing I took screenshots of everything. It’s absolutely wrong and dreadful that she is intentionally misleading members to ostracize successful members on here. I witnessed members making assumptions that the drama queen did NOT correct, immediately or at all, to perpetuate the drama. This is the same 💩. I’ll read the link more, wondering if there is any charges for those who perpetuate lies about others without verification. Reading a falsified statement made a drama queen isn’t proof. In court, judges look at facts and evidence. Fatsecret members agree without seeing all sides and continue to promote falsehoods. I looked into a libel lawsuit briefly, looks like in California we have a year to file. Perfect❣️Looks like all the screenshots I saved from half a year ago until two nights ago will come in handy. I was accused of flying to NYC my hometown to stalk a member multiple times on Fatsecret since Nov. I can’t wait to see what evidence this member can provide. 😂😂😂

And that's what prompted the post reply to this journal entry. I had to talk to my lawyer about something else entirely. The best rule of thumb for the internet is, "don't be stupid". Protect yourself and your identity. I didn't entirely think that had to be said in 2020. Over the last week, I've seen people use words like, "blackmail" - it didn't happen. And if it did, provide proof. I've seen, "cyberstalking", "stalking", and "hacking'. Again, if these things happened, provide proof, otherwise, there's real, actual damage being caused to satisfy nothing more than pettiness and drama. For the most part, I don't care about "opinions". You don't like me? Totally okay. I don't require that everybody likes me. You think I'm ugly? Also okay. Your soul is still beautiful. I don't care if you hate me, or my food, or my business - literally none of that matters to me because I have never, ever, lived my life for other people and their expectations. That all changes once you start accusing me of actual crimes. It's one thing to talk shit. It's another thing entirely to level actual and serious allegations of real crimes at people. Also, if you're going to tell the story, tell the whole story. Deleting comments to fit your narrative is just childish and still easily provable. Namaste, bitches. "I was accused of flying to NYC..." that shit is b.a.n.a.n.a.s. How sad and scary is the inside of that person's mind to assume that people would book a cross country trip to stalk someone on a diet app. I love a good conspiracy theory but that's not even a good one.
