cocobutt's Journal, 09 October 2010

Didn't expect to wake up to a drop. We even ate out yesterday. Had sashimi and one nigiri sushi, and went to one of those new frozen yogurt places for dessert. The nonfat, sugar-free Tahitian vanilla was delicious with a little coconut, strawberries, blueberries and yogurt chips.

I've been reflecting back on what has worked well for me in sticking with weight loss this time. The number one thing has been cutting down on white rice, flour and sugar. I truly believe that those things triggered my overeating and desire for more sweets and refined carbs.

Two more important things have been eating a filling breakfast every morning and planning in advance what I will eat for lunch and dinner. Hunger + no plan = bad choices

It's another gorgeous day out there. Mr Coco walked the dog and found someone's lost pet rabbit and brought her home. He walked around leaving word with neighbors, and within 30 minutes, her owners came by to claim her. Such a friendly bunny. We used to have one, and they have the cutest personalities.

Well, back to work. Tight deadline with a nervous client. Hope all my buddies have a lovely weekend!

Congratulations on your loss. I agree with everything you said about what makes your journey successful this time around. I do pretty much the same although I've never been much of a white rice eater and I'm not really a sweets eater except for a little something after dinner. The hard part is maintenance. Perhaps it will be easier having fatsecret to keep track since we can log recipes, favorite meals etc.

After all I learned on fatsecret, mainenence is turning out to be easy! It's almost unbelievable. I agree with you that breakfast is very important. It sets you up for success for the rest of the day. I always hated eating breakfast, but now I'm used to it. Speaking of which... There's some cottage cheese in the fridge with my name on it :)
