Want2BFit's Journal, 19 September 2010

So I've been very good on my diet up until day 11, I've been feeling good, but I've come to the conclusion that I have a weird relationship with food. I know how to eat, I know why some foods are not good for you, but when I feel like throwing in the towel, or being 'bad' all the rules go out the window. I love being my own guinea pig though, so I'm really interested in figuring this whole emotional eating or whatever it is out. I think it's really simple to say eat this and workout x amount/wk, but I think weight loss and fitness is a lot more than just black and white. It's very hard for people who are used to being one way to comletely just changed their habits. It's scary, and different, and even more so when you make huge changes. I mean I'm not even at my goal weight, and most times I'm teeter tottering btw +/- 15lbs; I've been a lot bigger so sometimes it makes me get a little complacent and less motivated to push myself especially to be something that I'm not.

Anyways, when I cut the white foods I do feel a lot better. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that all my 'bad' foods don't taste good anymore. I had sugar free cookies, carb free soda, pizza, grilled cheese this weekend, so in the grand scheme of thing it isn't too horrendous, but I always take these blips as a learning experience. I'm so exhausted with beating myself up that I just won't, lol. That's why I've been lax on the weigh ins b/c I refuse to carry the shame of some heinous person for being up on the scale, there are worse things to fret over.

I think I'm rambling at this point, per usual, lol, but the consensus for me in being successful I've found is:

~Must workout before eating
~Must drink my alloted water amount before eating
~Must plan foods out in advance, anytime to think is usually dangerous territory
