hollipop's Journal, 29 May 2013

Well, after avoiding the scale for 3 weeks, I finally weighed in this morning. It was bad. I knew it would be. I have grazed like a cow through anything that would catch my eye. Totally killed all the work I'd done this year, not that there was much, but still...
Gonna make the commitment to start doing better!! I have got to get back to tracking my foods and counting calories. I have got to cut out the pop and sweets again. I have GOT to get back to the gym!! I haven't been in 6 WEEKS!! AGH!! What am I doing to myself?!
Well, no more! I will stop trying to kill myself with grease and carbs and restart my lifestyle change! I can do it! I lost 40 lbs last year. I can lose another 40 this year. I have 6 months left, it is possible!! My #1 goal is to restart my willpower--I will conquer the munchies and say NO to anything that could sabotage my diet!
I will beat the scale-beast!! I am woman, and this is my battle cry!! Who's with me?!?
LOL, okay so there is my encouraging boost to myself for the day, maybe it will help someone else too. Hope ya'll have a great day!! I've missed ya'll! :)

You can do this!! It's summer now, which means fresh veggies and fruits and long days. No excuses to get outside and move more!! Here's something I did last summer. While my son would play on his playset, I would jog/walk across the backyard while kicking a soccer ball. With my pedometer tracking my steps, I would go back and forth for 15-20 minutes which would add up to about a mile. Find something you like and get to it. You can do this!!! I'm rooting for ya!!

I'm rooting for you too! I've been off my diet also because my son came home for a visit. I'm going to start fresh and you should too. Don't think about what you've done in the past, just look ahead to what you'll be doing to make yourself healthier.

Do not let yourself slip to where you are trying to re-lose 30lbs that you lost last year & gained back like I did. You have got this!! It is just as easy to get back on the wagon as it is to get off. Get outside doing something even if it's just a short walk. It will clear your mind plus the heat will make you not want any munchies or pop. Drink lots of water. I appreciate your encouraging boost to yourself! Today will be a good day!

One day, one goal at a time! View each new day as a new beginning and forget yesterday. I know that may sound hard, but it is best way to stay focused! You got this!

Well, I have cut down on the pop and sweets, but I haven't been able to cut it out entirely. However, I finally made a trip to the grocery store last night to restock my kitchen. Filled it with salads, fruits, water and other healthy foods that I was eating before. I did NOT buy all the junk that I wanted to buy. So, it's slow-going but I'm trying! :)

I had given up pop last year, but sometime last fall it starting creeping back into my diet (the diet version) until I went completely back to regular in the last few months. Don't know how that happened! I need to get back into journaling. I think that helped alot too, just been so busy!! Not having internet at home makes it hard too. Gonna have to fix that! :)

Hollipop....Pop is my demon. I just love the boost. But I too started drinking it again. Grabbed that first one as soon as it started getting warmer. It takes me a couple of days to get unhooked. I wish there was an easy way to give it up. I tried the bubble water that helped some. But with me it is easier to avoid the other sugars if I stay away from the pop. Like I said it seems to be a demon. But we can do it.

Wow...thanks....it is amazing how we look at things. I would of never thought about soda as being equivalent to 5 pieces of white bread. I can cut the bread. I only had one coke yesterday. I can go without it today. I look at that little can differently now. lol I'll look for the "Hungry for Change". I have heard of it before. But never seen it.

I will have to start watching health and wellness documentaries! I like reading health and wellness articles--they give me a boost. I picked up a copy of the flat belly diet book this weekend, but ended up putting it back and grabbing the new american diet book (or something like that) instead. I haven't had a chance to read it. I like to read health books during my lunch hour at work. It helps motivate me to choose a healthy lunch so that I feel better about my food choices while I read the right ways to eat! lol
