Day 22
I have been exercising! Contradancing Monday and Thursday and tonight (Saturday), ran on the treadmill (finally!) on Friday - 1.5 miles in 32 minutes. Found that contradancing is reportedly 300 calories per hour, and I go for 2 hours each evening. I bought a heart rate monitor which will measure aerobic heart rate and then download it to my computer so I can see the real effect of the contradancing. I have to get to my weight lifting class again too - those are Sundays and Tuesdays. So, I have a plan, and I am getting it to work! Also, people are starting to recognize me there, so that is fun. The core group of 20 or so are there every time I go - seems they have all been dancing together for YEARS! So that is a nice crowd to get into.

I have been eating well - salads every day, little bread, good meats broiled! But as take out - still not really cooking for myself because I have a nice little diner nearby where the waitresses like to chat - keeps me from being totally alone at dinner too, since now my friends are involved with kids in school or they are in school as teachers. One is a teacher and also has 5 kids! And divorced.

Still working nights but that should end in a few weeks. I actually went food shopping yesterday! I was inspired by a buddy to get some yogurts since now I don't have to feed my daughter and I can have yogurt and fruit for dinner if I want.

I have been reading several books - one is about grief and the science of how people get over/through it. It's helping. I am also reading How to Attract the Man You Have Been Waiting For - it has a religious bent but strangely enough it has most of the same advice as the Millionaire Matchmaker's book! No more dates set up but I have been contacted by someone who lives about 2 and 1/2 hours away and he seems exactly right for me, so at least I can imagine how that will go and enjoy the anticipation anyway. Very motivating for watching what I eat too!

I am grateful for good feelings - making new friends feels good, getting male attention feels good, eating fun and healthy food feels good.

I am grateful for my financial stability - still have my job! We just got an offer of $5000 if we accept a layoff, so some people will be going, one way or the other. Hope it's not me.

I am grateful for the internet - what would I do in the middle of the night to stay awake at work otherwise!

Hope you had a good weekend!
