Egull1's Journal, 23 February 2020

Your's truly came down with Influenza A (a.k.a H1N1) this week. The crazy thing is my appetite was not hampered in the least. I did not pull back on cals. I did work out, although I scaled back, split sets, and lowered intensity. But, on the whole I was home this week and fairly sedentary outside the workouts. My mom and I blame this drop on the fever. For at least 2 days straight, I was consistently in the "fat burn" zone on my fitbit. Anyhow, below is my weekly maintenance caloric trajectory. I have planned in a 2400 plus cal day on Wednesday. And, not to soon - this metabolism definitely needs a little fuel.

Monday - 1686
Tuesday - 1725
Wednesday - 2400 plus
Thursday - 1686
Friday - 1513
Saturday - 1517
Sunday - 1686
Average TDEE 1700
Current TDEE for the Fall and Winter Months = 1700/day
2400 cals 1 day/month
Working to maintain between 127-134 lb range
123.0 lb Lost so far: 87.0 lb.    Still to go: 0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
losing 1.4 lb a week

Get well soon! I had a relatively mild case for about 5 days the first week of January, took a solid 2 weeks to fully recover.

Thank you, gz - feelin' better already! They prescribed me some tamiflu. And, I have to say that stuff is a game changer when it comes to getting through. It definitely lessened the impact by half and cuts off that extra week where the body is just trying to recover energy wise.

Hope you feel better soon. Fueling seems to be a good idea!

That is a really miserable flu. Hope you feel back to your old self sooner than later. Take good care of that magnificent body of yours!

Oh, my! That's scary! Especially with a compromised immune system. Glad you got the Tamiflu and rested (except for your workouts)! Take care and recover!

I'm glad to hear that Tamiflu helped! I got in the habit of annual flu shots some years back; this year's was said to be only 60% effective but it seemed to help shorten my misery. In past years, I would be sick a couple of weeks, then relapse for another round.
