Homemade buns and the strangest soup ever. I just kept adding stuff, but it worked really well! My family loved it! Fresh ginger and garlic with sweet potatoes, onions (tons), chicken, garbanzo beans, tomato sauce, and a variety of spices. I won't be able to repeat it, but I might have fun trying!

I have been avoiding putting sweet potatoes in my homemade soup, but you might have pushed me into trying something new.

Aww, angelgirl! I wish you could come right on over! I would absolutely love to sit across a table and share some soup and talk for hours!❤️😊🤗

Hahah! Give it a shot, rgaDawg! I'd only had them in my squash soup, which I blend up, so this was new. It was sweet, but I added enough savory and a good amount of heat to balance it out.

Melissa, this looks and sounds delicious. I love throw-together meals and for some reason soups are the best. 😋

Thanks, evahart. Becc it was such a surprise to me that it worked. The only reason I thought to put ginger with sweet potatoes is that many recipes for squash soup include ginger.... It seemed it would work. Now my family is going to get sick of me chopping up ginger and putting it in everything! ... It was on a good sale! 😁

Melissa, you were probably the only one that was surprised. We all know you are an amazing cook. 😊👌

Thank you, Keyten! "❤️🤗❤️I miss so many things these days that friends post... The feed is very busy and time is limited. 😩 I try to make sure I get to "my people's" journals at least once a week to catch up, but even so I miss things. I like trying new things that work! I made a family, birthday meal for my youngest last week, and he wanted teriyaki meatballs... Along with a bunch of other stuff. I followed Tha sauce recipe exactly and hated it! I was tempted to toss the whole pot, but I started adding this and that and I ended up being well liked. But, I need a good recipe for net time! Any hints?

I really don't think I am, Becc, but thank you for your vote of confidence! ❤️❤️❤️Mostly I just have things I've cooked for so long, that I better be reasonably good at making them. I just don't have a lot of imagination for how to make the budget stretch to add interesting and fun ingredients that would inspire me to try new things. When cooking for a crowd, you well know things are easier to be basic. 😁
