Feeling thankful this evening.

Had a fistulaplasty today...it is an angioplasty for the dialysis access in my arm. It keeps clogging. The surgeon does a balloon like thing in my arm to get the clog out. This is the 7th time in 2019 that it has been done...my body keeps trying to "heal" the access in my arm. That's usually good when your body heals, but not with a dialysis access used 3x a week.

Most people have a fistulaplasty once a year, so it isn't nice to go so often.

That said, I am thankful that everything went well with the surgeon and I am alright!

Couldn't drive today, just slept all afternoon. Still sleepy. Heading to dreamland soon.

Onward, friends!

I was a dialysis nurse for 10 years. I appreciate what you are dealing with. Are you a candidate for peritoneal or is that even of interest to you.?

So sorry you had to go through this, and so often! Rest and I hope you feel better today. I don't know if you're a candidate for a kidney transplant, but are you familiar with The Living Bank in Houston? 💜💛💚

Kenna...I'm terrified of needles (dialysis is my own personal purgatory) and like being in a structured environment with regular nurses and a doctor that visits once a week. No way I can stick myself and this apartment is so small a machine here isn't a good option. I looked over the info several times, and don't really like what it looks like. BTW, I appreciate dialysis nurses. They are angels. God bless you!!!! shirfleur 1, will be looking it up! :)

Binkytexas, peritoneal dialysis does not involve a needle. A catheter is surgically inserted into the abdomen, fluid infused and drained overnight. Not for everyone but a freeing option for some. .
