Ceebee's Journal, 28 July 2010

So we have had a crazy week at casa de Ceebee. Monday I had to get my car fixed and that took two hours.. luck for us the dealership is right by a great big kids play area. Tuesday I took the kids to their yearly check ups.. the poor stinkers had to get shots.. 4 each.. YIKES. I had to do a blood draw that morning and it had to be after a 12 hour fast. (just normal blood work for my yearly trip to the violator aka OB/GYN) I am excited/nervous to see the results.. my previous dr never had blood drawn so I have not had this done in like 10 years or so.. Today I had to go to the dentist because my bite guard was grinding my gums on the inside.. so the edges had to be ground down.. my dentist looked at my night guard and was in shock.. he asked me what I was so stressed about... my guard does look like it has had a trip through the garbage disposal.. pretty chewed up. My worry is how long will it last. I can use the cheap ones from the drug store till a new one comes in if I break this one.. but I go through the drug store ones like a hot knife through butter. It is no wonder I have chicklets for teeth. Anyway so that is fixed and then I met the fella back at our house who fixed the rod hole in my basement.. and he found 3 more behind the snap in finished walls.. so that is good.. he was here and fixed them all. Tomorrow is the first day that we dont HAVE to go someplace or meet someone or make an appt. Thank heavens. I am hoping to be in the 2 oh whatevers next week.. 207, 209, 2 oh whatever. I am riding my bike doing well with my food choices.. all in all not too shabby.

WOW bite guards. I know all about those. I'm cheap so what I do is go to the sporting goods store or department store. I find the cheapest mouth guard. Then I cut it down to the size of a standard bite guard and custom cut it to fit my mouth. Then it goes into a hot water bath and into my mouth to shape it. After that a cold bath to harden it up. One of those usually last a couple of months. I just can't see paying 30 bucks or more for a specialized bite guard when I can make one out of a sports mouth guard for a couple bucks.
