Cheeks's Journal, 03 June 2008

Happy to report that there was no change in my weight this morning, which is relieving a bit of the paranoia I've had from reading all those complications listed on the fertility medication sheet! Went for more bloodwork this morning, and also had my first ultrasound….I was a bit shocked to see that they do these internally now, instead of on the outside of your belly! Moving on. Hahahaha Yesterday I just found out that the night shots need to be taken around the same time, so looks like I may have cancel some plans I had that are coming up. Was suppose to have a girls night out to watch a soccer game this Friday night. Its crazy the things that you take for granted of being able to do, are quelled by something like this. I think I'm going to try and wake up early, and get a walk in or some other sort of mild exercise (you aren't suppose to do any kind of strenuous exercise during this process) and see if that helps me get a little more energy, been feeling really tired lately.

Hope you all have a great Tuesday :)

Glad to hear the shots haven't had an effect on your weight. How many have you had so far? And is hubby doing okay giving them to you? I remember almost hyperventilating a couple times when I was giving them to my sister just because of my own dislike of needles :) Walking is better than no exercise at all, and should not be considered 'strenuous', so enjoy yourself! You have a great Tuesday as well!

I started taking them on Friday night…so this is day 5. Feels like a lifetime though! Hahah I am such a baby when it comes to needles! My hubby is amazing, and I feel soooo lucky to be going through this process with him. He calls himself Dr. Greg. Hahahha He doesn't even flinch, and puts it in me like a dart. I can't say that he would be as lucky if the roles were reversed, because I'm pretty sure I would cringe if I had to do it to him too…so I don't know how you ever did it to your sister! Kudos to you!! Heck, I have to turn away when I see them doing it on Grey's Anatomy even! I'm pathetic =) hahaha I emailed my girlfriends and asked if anyone was comfortable giving a shot…and here is one of their replies: "I have been giving shots to a cat for over three months when I stay with the boy I take care of occasionally, but that's about it, sorry..... I wouldn't dare :(" Too funny. =)

LOL oh yes, aren't them "internal ultrasounds" fun???? NOT. Man, I've had some bad experiences with them... nuff bout that. Sounds like you are doing GREAT! Kudos to hubby for doing such a good job at the shots, too. Yes, walking and stretching would be great and will help you get going with a bit more energy, too. :) Keep up the great work!! Can't wait to hear how the shots are working!

Glad to hear that you guys are doing well with the Fertility Meds. My husband got a real kick out of giving me my shots. I remember the doctors telling me not to do anything strenuous durring that time too. So I did some light yoga and walking when I could. It made me feel like I was at least trying to do something good for my body. Good for the stress that comes along with everything that was going on too. The internal ultrasounds are something aren't they? LOL. And they don't even buy you a drink afterward. LOL. Good luck to you and your husband with everything. You are in our prayers! -- Julie

Internal ultrasound? Never heard of that before. Learn something new everyday. I suppose they get a better view that way (no pun intended!!). I'm glad your shots seem to be agreeing with you (if you don't count the tiredness). Lucky you to have such a willing and stoic hubby. Walking should help you feel better. It's amazing how under-rated walking was/is. It's good for us in so many ways. Too bad you will have to miss your girls' night out. Just think of it as practice for when you have a baby :) Hang in there!

Update to my journal today. Got my test results back, it appears that I have pre-maturely ovulated since my tests on Sunday. This apparently can happen with someone who has such high FSH levels. Part of me was disappointed, because we can't do the procedure this cycle, because I already ovulated…but on the other hand, I was relieved, because I don't need to have any more shots until my next cycle. Keeping my fingers crossed that maybe we will be lucky enough this month. 2 weeks won't go by quick enough.
