So you have a little under 30 pounds of fat. Less than 26% fat. That sounds pretty darn good to me. :)

@chris, somewhere in between lol. The tech looked at me like I was crazy when I said my ultimate goal was 20% but I’d be happy with 25-27% right now. Seems most women, according to her, should be around 28% or under. She sees mostly 28%+ come in and said whatever I did for my diet had and still is working for me. I didn’t mention the snickers lmao. She also said I had a good amount of muscle but understood my desire to have more. She was also impressed with my bone density and recommended I have another bone scan soon to show my drs how I’ve made my bones healthier by working out! I wanted to jump up and down right then lol. I would have if I’d have been under 25% BF. Probably would’ve kissed her if I’d been close to 20% lol.

@Tassos thanks :). Around a year ago I was around 0 to -1 and they told me I was flirting with osteopenia. They said working out should help some but it seems it’s helped a lot.

LZ yep! 29.95#! If I can stay this weight while losing 3-4# of BF and gain 2-3# of SM I’ll be golden lol. Id hoped for 20% but that’s unrealistic. 25-27 was the number I’ve been expecting. Was dreading that the scale was right though. It reads me as 31% today so it’s off (high) by 5-6%! It reads hubbys 5-6% lower than today’s scan.

Chris, there was NO sign like that posted anywhere lol. I’ll stick to a bear hug if I have to give in to the urge 😉.

I googled DEXA scans and didn’t find much here in Oklahoma. Then I started looking up body fat scans and body composition scans. After months of researching I found somewhere that does it in my state but they are 2 hours away. Another has a mobile truck but they do corporations and large groups. Didn’t think they’d dive up here for just us.

Congrats on your success :D Discussing measurements> Some Gyms offer measurements as a part of the initial Talk-through or even separately, where they measure either with a Caliper or Electrical bio-analysis. I would say, however, that one should do a couple of these tests within a short period and take the median numbers, because the results differ, especially for women (with water content, what you ate same day or day before, menstruation cycle etcetera). Also remember to not eat TOO little - that will just result in loss of muscle mass > reduced Basal Metabolism and so on. Carbs can be absolutely minimized (your liver produces all carbs that you need) and protein intake could be increased. With the fats - more nuts and fish for the increase of Omega 3 for the (Omega3-Omega6 balance in your body, since we usually have an overload of Omega 6, causing all kinds of problems leading to Metabolic syndrome).

A trainer measured me at 26.1% then 19.?% a few months later. She measured my bra band area as my waist the second time lol. The first time I was recovering from surgery so was retaining water. The second time I wasn’t. No issues as to female reasons of holding water as I’ve had a hysterectomy, mastectomy, chemo etc and don’t have to worry about that anymore! The one good thing that came out of all that other than several months of not having to shave haha. Anywho, I can’t even use calipers correctly. Hubby and I measure each other. We can be off quite a bit each time :/. When I averaged the numbers a few months ago I came up with 15-28% bf depending on which formula I used with a couple being between 24-27%. Guess I wasn’t that far off after all!(since the scan showed 25.8%). I’m a carb lover so my liver can do it’s thing and my mouth can do it’s thing :). I try to keep protein high and fats low as I seem to gain weight when I eat over 70g of fat per day for a couple weeks. I’d say my diet is high protein, high carb and moderate fat if that’s possible. Thank you for sharing that information! I love learning new things :).
