I lost 9 pounds this month...that is better than I expected.

total loss for Dec = 13
total loss for Jan = 10.3
total loss for Feb = 9.4
total loss for Mar = 0.7
total loss for Apr = 18.8
total loss for May = 6.4
total loss for June = 9

This is a win...it just really sucked...

Hopefully July goes a little easier! I'm going to do better about logging. I'm doing better already about walking. I was able to get shots in both knees this time and hopefully it won't run out before I can get them again (can only get them every 3 months). I will do better about drinking...NO MORE SODA OR SWEET TEA! I'm an addict...clearly...I can't have any soda and the sweet tea is barely better. I just get sucked back in so fast! I'm back to my black tea so I can control the amount of sugar. It's much better for me!! I'm committed...I'm doing okay just not as well as I know that I can. I lost 13 pounds in December without surgery...there's no reason I can't do that again!! I wanted 10 pounds this month because May was disappointing but 6.4 pounds was still more than a pound a week which I said was my lowest loss threshold. I ought to be able to do better. My goal is at least 2 pounds a week but 1 is acceptable...really it is. I always want more than I get lol, I know that. I might not ever learn patience but I'm getting better at faking it lol!

Fishingwidow it seems everyone loses quicker....

Those that lose really quick tend to burn out faster. Slow and steady. It should not be more than 2 lbs per week or you risk losing muscle too.

9 pounds in a month is really good, especially several months into it. You are doing a great job! I understand about being addicted to soda. I am trying to cut it out totally....eventually, once all the soda in the refrigerator is gone.

I haven’t had a soda in 1 1/2 years

Hi Katie, do you like any artificial sweeteners? I know they still stimulate insulin response, but . . . gotta be better than sugar.

I found that weening myself off sugar(in my coffee) slowly worked. I decreased by 1/4 teaspoon per serving a week at a time until now, I don't add any at all.

4 pounds a month IS good...I just have to keep reminding myself of that!! If you look at the whole picture you will note that the first month and the month that I had my WLS are the months that I lost the most. Those are big change months...March was my worst month and that was when I was losing hope. In 7 months time I have averaged about 9 pounds a month but if you look at my total numbers since I started here in April last year you will see that I have lost 80 pounds in 14 months which puts my average at more like 5 pounds per month. This is okay...I really mean it...it's just that I'm impatient to get to where I'm going...I have a lot to prove to my doctors so I push really hard. But I make mistakes and have bad days...LOL after all my talk yesterday I went out and bought 7-up to mix with OJ because of my sore throat! Nothing else seems to work as well and I feel terrible and I'm cranky lol so...7-up. But the good news is that I don't expect to finish the bottle and I'm sharing it with the other two sickies in the house so...my expected intake will be small. I'm not fond of kombucha but I do like black/green/herbal teas so I tend to drink those and water most of the time, I just miss the fizz. I have a soda stream and I love to make myself sodas I just haven't felt up to it lately. I haven't found any artificial sweeteners that I like so far and I've tried a LOT of them. I have another that I want to try (Swerve) but I haven't had the money to try it yet so...maybe this month??
