Snowwhite100's Journal, 12 June 2019

Our daughter and husband are in town from Arizona to visit her oncologist. She arrived Sunday, had her PET scan Monday, and saw the doctor Tuesday. She does have one new little lesion on her hip (breast cancer spread to bones). They were disappointed but trying to take it well. The doctor is not going to change any medication and will retest in 3 months. She is taking the last oral chemo, and when it has to be changed again, she will have to go on I.V. chemo plus maybe radiation. They have their trailer with them and are leaving today Wednesday for 5 days at Bass Lake, and hopefully getting enough days in Yosemite to make it worthwhile to pull their trailer in. They have 3 other trips planned in the next 2 or 3 months. I give her a lot of credit, to go ahead and do all she can. She doesn't complain much but tries to live as full a life as possible. I'm very proud of her. I have so many clothes, I was able to find 9 tops that she liked and were big enough, maybe size 8 or mediums. She has hot flashes so likes something cool. She was used to living well, so didn't want just any old top (no tees, no sweaters), but only something she would "really" enjoy wearing out. I surprised myself: thank you Lord, I was able to "let go" of them to please her. We laughed about her "shopping" in my closet. They were really, really cute. I had never worn several of them, saving them for good, or church. Yes, I only shop at thrift stores or E-Bay, but we have several good ones if I drive to the nicer neighborhoods. Isn't it funny how I (and maybe some of you) wear almost junky stuff around the house and the nice stuff just waits. They were waiting till summer and something special. One she had given to me. One I had altered for me, and had to re-alter for her. If it wasn't for the grace of God, I couldn't have given so freely.....
