Paige E's Journal, 21 May 2008

I am recommitting.

I want to lose a little faster than I am.

And there is no better time than right now.

I reviewed all that I've eaten on a regular basis. Although my carb count is low, my calories can sometimes get up there. I have to think about what choices I need to make.

Since it is Memorial Day weekend, I know that I will not be perfect. But I will try to not splurge too much. I can do that. I have before. And I'm fine with that. If I have just one "cheat" a day I feel like I'm getting my "extra" and I'm not deprived - and it doesn't send me into cravings. I am planning ahead and bringing some good choices for me. And since I do most of the cooking, there will always be options for me!! ha!

I think I will cut back a great deal on the bacon and the processed meats. I think I am counting on them too much and they aren't as pure of food as I would like to be putting in my body. Plus, no matter how you look at it - bacon has a lot of calories.

I will also make an attempt to exercise TWICE a day. In addition to going to the gym five days a week, I can take a good walk or do some stretches and sit ups.

I would like to hit the 20lbs mark before June 1st. I don't think that's too unrealistic. If I really devote myself and watch my salt intake. And up my exercise level. I haven't weighed since Sunday - but that is only four pounds in about two weeks. I CAN do this!!!

Diet Calendar Entry for 21 May 2008:
1852 kcal Fat: 156.86g | Prot: 84.93g | Carb: 23.08g.   Breakfast: bacon. Lunch: rotisserie chicken. Dinner: Real Mayonnaise, butter, zucchini, brat. Snacks/Other: DQ Fudge Bar. more...

Don't cut bacon, just look for the nitrite-free bacon. Just 2 pieces has a lot of protein too. Don't be afraid of fat calories, you need fat to loose fat. Do cut the processed meats, though. Don't count calories, just stick to the plan. One pound per week is perfect! You've lost 10 lbs in a month and a half! What's not to like?? Your daily treat is not a "cheat" so try not to call it that. If it keeps you honest and on the plan, then who cares if it may slow the weight loss a bit, at least you're going in the right direction. Keep up the good work! (BTW, your salt intake may keep you from bloating and water weight but what you want to lose is fat weight, make sure you have some fat before any exercise and it will help you stay in ketosis and not burn muscle during your exercise).

You are doing the right thing by looking back on what you have been doing and what you want to change and planning your exercise. Try not go give yourself too much to change and set exercise goals too high too soon. I know that when I have done that and haven't been able to live up to that plan, I feel like I have failed. Try starting little changes at a time and work up to the ultimate goals! You CAN do this. GO GET 'EM PAIGE!!! :)

Your plan sounds great. My calories seem to be all over the board but I am trying not to worry about it, just watching the carbs. Have a great weekend
