madaboutmoose's Journal, 09 December 2012

Morning everyone. Though lately I'm realizing not too many of my buddies still frequent Fatsecret. Bummer. But I write such personal things here I don't want to open up my profile. Not sure I could take the random " helpful" comments of a newcomer. Is that bad to think?

Today DH and I will drive mom to Coeur d' Alene to spend the week with her friends there. The weather is iffy and we don't want her stuck driving in a snowstorm. Perhaps we can go to a movie or get some stocking stuffer shopping done. At least we will have the day together while we drive. Hoping that Saturday we can take mom to dinner for her birthday which is Wednesday. She is such a wonderful mom I wish I could do more for her than dinner out.

Down another 2 tenths of a lb. I'd love to see a bigger drop but will take what I can get. Right?

Still overwhelmed but still kicking. Sleep was so-so last night. Melatonin definitely helps in that area.

Grateful.

For another day.
Coffee!
My iPad!!!!!
Fun chat with my youngest last night on Facebook ... Sometimes technology is fun.
Slowly moving back down the chart on my weight.
My faithful angel buddies here on Fatsecret!

Kindness reigns as does gratefulness. I plod on!

Enjoy your time with your mum, we are too aware of how precious and little time there really is. And yes I know what you mean about wishing you could something more for her because she is such a special person, but sounds like she has all she really needs in a wonderful daughter who loves and appreciates her - that's not as common as you would think. And I also hear you about keeping your journal private, sometimes the helpful comments aren't helpful - we've been on this journey a long time and we need some place to just 'be ourselves' so I concur about keeping it private, but I do love to read your story. Hope the rest of the week is great for you. Hope to see more tomorrow.

Definitely enjoy mum! And I kinda follow you on the "unsure to take tips from a newcomer", however you should also consider that we were ALL newcomers, and we all need new kinds of input now and then. I think it's a matter of filtering what you get. I get tons of input, and I use some and not all. If you don't get the input in the first place, you don't get to pick and choose. :) I'm super glad to see your progress, I'm proud of you. You're on track and doing it, even through the hard times. Keep it up. Did you watch the video? :)
