HCB's Journal, 13 November 2012

Dang, those roasted almonds! My office mate brought in a can of lightly roasted almonds saying, "Gee, I think you can eat these, right?"

Argh...I did NOT want to eat any because they increase my fat grams for the day! And, they are lightly salted, too!

I know nuts are healthy and part of the Primal Diet...but, I do not like consuming the extra fat. I seem to lose better when I can keep my fat grams under 30g. per day.

I chose to eat a serving anyway. Dang those roasted almonds!

Still grateful for:

- The people I love who love me back!
- The good health of my loved ones
- My FS Buddies who support and encourage me to continue
- "Butt-kicking" myself to a smaller size today

Almonds are just so healthy for you. They are worth (in health benefits) every single calorie. When you get my age your joints will thank you.

It could have been worse they could have been chocolate covered!! They are dangerous. Everything will be green again!

One serving isn't going to kill you, if like me one serving leads to a jar full then it is a problem.

Wow 58, I would never have guessed.

Almonds.... sometimes I can control them and sometimes I cannot! But since you limited yourself to just one serving, I vote that they didn't do you any harm. It's when they are sitting there, calling your name and saying "come eat me"... that's when they are dangerous! Apparently, only the almonds I buy are of the talking variety ;)

@Evelyn - trust me, they ARE the talking type, too!

Now you tell me this. I just got home from Whole Foods with a small bag of chocolate covered almonds because I kept seeing them on everyone's journal. I couldn't wait to finish dinner to have a try at them. So I bet a serving is about 2.5 almonds right. :)

Nuts are a killer. I don't even like almonds. When I do nuts, I do cashews and macadamia. There's a place in town where I can get both unsalted. KILLS ME. I can't even stop at a handful. I almost turned the steering wheel towards the Nifty Nuthouse today on my way to the office, and I stopped myself. I needed to! In addition to the tempting nuts, they have an array of sugar free chocolate treats. I was good! I was!

Nuts are soo good and soo addictive so I know right where you are coming from. They are a good fat though so keep with that. If you can keep it to a serving it's not too bad right?

If you are going to have a little splurge... almonds are the way to go. I know we must have had this talk before. *wink* LOL! Hugs!

Almonds! So good for you, irresistable. I was at Costco the other day, sailed past all the sample of this and that, then screeched to a halt at the samples of chocolate covered almonds. I dutifully recorded my 3 milk chocolate covered almonds, lol.

I love almonds too & buy them in the 100 calorie serving packs, because I'm not sure I could stop at 1 serving if in your situation! I'm very impressed & we're grateful for you and al your support!

You stopped at one serving!! That's the way to do it! I too have to buy the 100 calorie packs if I have any almonds because I just can't stop eating them... way to easy to overeat! But I agree, they're pretty ok for you so not bad at all!

Dang Almonds...:O)

HMMMM - 100 calorie packs is a great idea! I am not sure I have seen them but I will look next time at the store. Almonds also chase away any hunger when I am at the work so could be OK as long as I can limit quantity!

my store has them with the regular nut selection but they could also be with the 100 calorie packs (my store has a section of just those lol). they're overpriced. but for me its a trade off!
