Went to the doctor this morning. Blood pressure is down. She said that I was really close to having to go on blood pressure meds. Gladly I was able to get to down through my lifestyle change. My reading today was 128/78. Back on 1/11/10 it was 132/80 and on 12/30/09 it was 142/92. She said that my daily caloric intake range was fine for me. 1200 to 1500 per day but to never exceed 2000 in one day. She said if I have one high day a week 1800-2000 that she was fine with that. The scale at the doctor's office did say 365 but I think that was due to being a completely different scale than the one at work that I have been using. And today was not a official weigh day so I'm not going to log it. My knees have been hurting so she is putting be on a anti inflammatory for a while. She wants me to take my blood sugar level on a daily basis in the morning before I eat. I'm a bit concerned about putting that in my routine. I have a hard enough time with getting up and walking then eating and getting ready for work. I will make the effort though. I have to go back for fasting blood work. Looks like the changes I have made are paying off already. Just got to keep working at it.

That's great news. I have been on high blood pressure meds for a while and with my weight loss, my BP has been dropping. I see my doctor in a couple of weeks, so I am thinking a smaller dose for now and stop them shortly after that. I also have knee problems and due to weight loss, they are getting better as well. Glad to see you succeeding, keep up the great work. It is worth it!!

Thanks Geo. The doctor said our conversation would have been about PB Meds instead of how far I have come on the weight loss. I really dodged the bullet on this one.

yeah.. never log your weight from a different scale.. unless you are getting a new one to be your main scale.. you could weigh yourself on 5 different scales adn get 5 different numbers.. the way I look at it is I will stick to the one I started with because that one while it may be off is off the same amount every time so I can at least compare apples to apples. :)

Yes. One scale. If I can't make in on weigh in day then weigh in day can wait! The girlfriend wants to buy a nice one to keep in the house but I am afraid if I can weigh myself any time it will have more of a disparaging effect then a motivational one. The doctors kept wanting me to do a resting blood sugar and luckily I was just outside the pre-diabetes zone. I gained alot of weight after that so I am sure it got worse, but now that I am so far down I bet it will be a lot better! I am not one to rock the boat and get checked haha.

Congrats on the good news!! Keep up the great work & those #s will keep getting better & better, as will your conversations w/ your doc ; ) As for getting a new scale, if you do & you feel tempted to weigh yourself often, put it in an inconvenient place like the trunk of your car. Lol, that way when weigh-in day comes you'll be more motivated to get it = )
