So Weight Watchers. It has been around since 1963. The reason I bring it up is that it is one of if not the most successful weight loss plan around. It is a simplified version of calorie counting which instead uses points. It's a version of portion control with nothing off limits. They even have points assigned to processed foods. It is essentially what I do every day. My WoE is nothing new, it isn't a new concept it's been around for a long time yet people cannot believe it. One guy even thinks I am paid by certain fast food vendors to associate a nice body with their products. :D

This site can work a lot like WW support. Support sure helps!

I am definitely grateful for FS and its support!

The first time I lost 160 pounds I did it with WW. I learned so much with them -- what a portion actually is, and the point system definitely rewards you for eating healthier while allowing for you to make whatever choices you wish. Somebody referenced the food. You eat your own food from the grocery store I think the buying food is Jenny Craig. It is expensive but I did find the group to be supportive and it kept me accountable. Unfortunately WW closed all of their sites within driving distance from me and was pushing an online solution which I wasn't game for. Today I am using this site, getting group support here and a way to track my eating. I must say I am using much of what I learned at WW to be successful this time around. Also when I gained weight again (long emotional story) I did not return to pre WW numbers. I also maintained my loss for 10 years. So they are doing something right.

first off, I want to offer my sincere congratulations to you!!! Good for you!! Weight Watchers is realistic! I get this from people: "Oh, you can eat whatever you want" WTF? Why, because I'm thin? There's a reason why I'm thin. I count calories everyday. I allow myself to eat what I want without any limits on certain occasions like parties, holidays, birthdays, occasions like that. I stay within my limits otherwise. When I know I have a light at the end of the tunnel, I'm good. Why is that so hard to understand? People want to know how I stay thin, I tell them and they go on these restrictive diets anyway that do not work for them. It's simple science. Your body will burn off certain amount of calories. I have much respect for Weight Watchers because ultimately, it is calorie control . You adhere to those standards. It's really not that hard when you think about it, we can eat whatever we want as long as we stay within our calorie limit. I will remain loyal to this journey for the rest of my life. I want to be healthy and I like to look fit.

That idea of carbs being the ones responsible for us gaining/maintaining excessive weight 😒 gets old

I’m pretty sure my carbs are what’s caused my recent weight gain 😳. Seriously lol. It’s jot the carbs so much as the amount though. But like someone said, it’s the holidays and birthdays for us so I’m trying to let loose of some of the control. I’m an all or nothing personality so this is a challenge but it’s working mostly as long as I ignore the scale ;). Plus like most of you, I know it’s temporary because I’ve only gained a pound or so the last two weeks and that’s easy to get back off with a couple weeks of 1200-1400 kcal daily with some exercise and better food choices. But I’ll enjoy these cookies and cookie cakes and pizza because all too soon they’ll be gone!

When u restrict carbs off and on, it obvious one will see drastic changes on the scale

I tried for a month on cico. I was stupid hungry and losing weight slowly. I’ve been on keto for almost six weeks and it’s effortless. Different bodies can react to different food sensitivities and cause hormones/insulin levels to affect hunger levels. I wish cico could work for me but it requires more will power. Kudos to you and diablo for finding something that you can maintain! 👏👏👏

Low carb and keto are just a different way of cico, with more emphasis on fats and proteins. You still need a deficit to lose the weight.

Rosio, I haven’t been restricting carbs much. Just in regards to high calorie carbs like pizza and cookies. But I do notice that when I eat pizza I gain some. That may be because I eat 800-1200 calories of it at a time lol. (I was making a joke earlier because I love my carbs. Heck I love protein too. And fats 😉).

Lol my first comment was a joke too 😂😂😂 tired of ppl trying to sell me junk when calorie deficit is the only way to lose weight naturally.

Moopie, I’m the exact opposite. When I eat less carbs, as in processed carbs, I’m way hungrier. Veggies just don’t keep me full long. Protein fills me up quickly but again I’m hungry in a couple hours and tend to snack more with just meat. Just goes to show that people’s bodies are different! Our bodies change over time too. I’d love to go back to eating all processed frozen type meals and fast food and be skinny but that’s just not my body anymore 😭. That being said, I know people, not on here, that are doing Keto and I haven’t seen any difference. I mean they are probably healthier but over the last several months there has been no noticeable weight loss. A couple are bigger women and I’d think after being on Keto since early spring that I’d see a change. Especially since I only see one maybe twice a year. I’m not sure she understands the deficit part of Keto. 😖

I lost 10 pounds a week on Jenny Craig back in the day and I lost 2 pounds a week on Weight Watchers. I lost 20 pounds in a week on Atkins protein.

Calorie deficit .... now way around it. Eat it burn it.

Blue eyes it’s not about how fast u lose, are u able to maintain the loss? Can you adhere to the way of eating for the rest of your life ? Will you binge every other week uncontrollably?
