Someone on here told me I was around 30% BF, trainer said 26.59% in June and 19.22% in August. So Protein should be 85-143, 78-130 or 75-125 (20,27,30% BF). The first 2 weeks after I got serious I didn’t track. The next 14 weeks I only hit 75+ twice. In the last 15 weeks I’ve hit 78.9-115 every week (daily average). For 20% BF I’ve hit the numbers 13 of 15 weeks. So I seem to be doing okay there. I’m technically under maintenance yet I’m gaining and losing the same few pounds.

I’m not doing actual workouts now but once a week I help with practice for a PreK basketball team. I’m mostly the one who runs for the balls but not very far lol. We play with the kids for 15-20 minutes after so there’s that too. I go easy because my sides are still tender. Several days a week I do assisted pull ups, neutral grip mostly. 7-10 each so some days it’s 30, some days it’s 30 morning and 10 evening and some days it’s just 10. I’ve been doing some wall sits, pushups from low on the wall and the floor depending on how I feel that day. I’m carrying all the heavy groceries and kiddo again lol. I’m not sedentary yet I doubt I fit ‘light active’ for most of the calculators because I’m not officially working out twice a week.

Any clue as to why I’m not losing more? While healing, and he said I would still be healing a bit for the next 3 weeks, I should be losing more. He told me almost a pound. I’m not sure if that’s the total he took (put half back in and toss the half that’s impure) or what he put back in. Either way I expected a 2-4# drop like last time yet I’ve went down 1.4# and up to 1# of that could’ve been impurities that got tossed and I didn’t get back. He said no lower than 1500 to ensure I had enough calories to heal but not get to or over maintenance. I’m staying right around that.

Is water that important?? I’m getting fluids but plain water just won’t happen. I’m having coffee, tea, flavored water, diet soda, and sometimes broth or soup base. I don’t log anything other than the broth and base because everything else is 0 calories. The few times I’ve managed to get in 60+ ounces of all water, not including anything else, I ended up in the bathroom so much I didn’t get much done and I felt ill, bloated and water logged all day. This has happened since I can remember as a kid. A bottle of water every 2 hours will have me close to the bathroom all day. One around meal times or snacktimes and I’m good. There seems to be a fine line for me between 3 bottles and 4 lol.

My oncologist and surgeons all said this wasn’t there area so made some suggestions but nothing concrete (1500 cal, more water, more exercise, better sleep etc). I’m even doing my best to get 8 hours sleep even if I have to nap to get the last 1-2 hours. My family dr said no less than 1200, 100g protein should be plenty of not too much, my workout seemed solid, sleep seemed ok and to add a bottle of water or two.

Dehypso retaining water? Gaining muscle and losing fat even though I’m not as active? Losing muscle and gaining fat because I’m not as active? My scale and body got together while I slept and decided to screw with me a bit?? Yeah I’m going with that one. 🤪

I lift dumbbells 3-4 days a week 20 minutes basically no resting time n I am embarrassed to say I exercise. 60 minutes a week is basically nothing. Which I’m ok with for now

After watching layne guy, I’m gonna say again @chris I’m not active...The reason why I can eat more is cause I have not messed too much with my tdee

I stared dieting recently n I have not let go...cause it’s a lifetime journey...now I know if I stop dieting next time I want to lose weight it will be harder. Just another motivation to keep at it 😋

My phone died....Just play with the numbers and basically I don’t mean it in a bad way but I dont think u can burn a lot of calories with housework, really try to see if that’s light active.

No Rosio I don’t burn much with housework and log that as ‘3PLUS’. That’s my activity tracker and it counts burn based on steps. Therefore folding clothes would count more as steps which is less than the app shows I’d burn for hanging laundry.

your body is healing and I would think if you are not giving it enough liquids it holds onto what it does get. soup is water mixed with whatever is in it. water plain helps to flush the system, it is beneficial to just have water, drink as much as you are comfortable with and fill the rest of the liquids in to comfort level. soda built a belly on me, maybe it doesn't bother you at all. everyone is different. you really should not be worried about losing weight when your body is healing. yes I know you like to try and figure everything out but the bottom line is your body will do as it will. it probably wants more calories to use for the healing process.

I’m with Chris on the activity thing. I don’t log it if I’m not sweating within 5-10 minutes of starting. 5-8# dumbbells will do that for me. Lifting them while doing squats or lunges will make me sweat faster lol. My tdee based on the different calculators I’ve found ranges from 1300 sedentary up to 2100 lightly active 😳. Huge difference with just 1-3 workouts per week. The one that uses BF% for just the BMR/RMR puts me around 1500. Goes up to 1750 or so with workouts and lightly active selected. That seems to be inline with the losses I was seeing a few weeks ago but not anymore.

Chris, I log sleep, my tracker and the rest as resting unless I feel that I did a lot shopping (carrying heavy stuff like 50# feed and 35# litter) or my workout was worth logging. That seems to be the most accurate. The last time I logged my whole day, down to counting the exact minutes for each activity, it showed a burn of 2100-2200 calories 😳. Yet I was eating around 1500 +\- 100 and wasn’t losing much. By the app, I should’ve been losing 1# per week rather than 2# per month I lost. I guess I should try logging daily for two weeks as you suggest and not changing it back to sleep/rest/3PLUS. Based on my spreadsheet I’m about 100 calories more expended per day most days for the losses I’m seeing. Yet some weeks I’m in a deficit of 2000 calories yet gain weight with my basic sleep/rest/3plus logging. I can’t find any rhyme or reason to the changes up or down lol. Being someone who loves math and numbers in general this frustrates me to no end haha.

Sry missed your comment baskington! I have two tiny scabs. The healing is being done internally I guess but how much healing do I need from light lipo and grafting it back in.... The grafting is trying to stick which is one reason he didn’t want a big deficit. Perhaps it is the water. I have an aversion to tap water, especially town water. So many chemicals and I gag before I taste it just because of the smell. Vick’s under my nose doesn’t help because the taste is worse than the smell lol. We have a well so no chemicals. We do have some kind of a filter and salt thing to make the water softer. I can stand that if I’m overheated and down it. That’s why I’m the summer I do my best to be outside until I’m super thirsty then drink al I can hold. Between 1 16oz glass and 3. I lived on fast food, pop, candy and easy processed meals for over 10 years and had no issues. Lost easier than I liked actually. But that was Ages 18-30. *sigh* I’ll try to drink more but it’ll be flavored water. I can down 4 of those a day if I cut out all other fluids and stay active. And if the stores would keep them in stock! Can find usually 12 per week. I buy all they have once a week. Going to go grab one now lol. Will have one at practice and maybe one for dinner. That’s 50.7 ounces if I can drink that. And I’m on my 5th cup of coffee :). No soda as of yet today. Hubby usually gets us one after practice though and the gas stations here don’t carry propel water.

According to FS, you should have lost about half a pound over this past week. That's a nice rate for your current weight. I see you stayed pretty stable over the week, which is great considering you're in a healing state - meaning you're probably retaining water to help in the healing process. I think the biggest thing you can do for yourself is to be patient. Let your body fully heal. I bet it then releases the water and you'll see a nice whoosh.

I'd also find a non-caffeine way of getting more fluids. Do you like any herbal teas? I like peppermint, chamomile, any of the fruit ones, and one called Bengal Spice. Nummm. They give a little flavor to water so it's not so boring. Having all the caffeine in your system isn't doing you any favors.

I know I need to be patient ;). It’s so hard though lol. Harder than dieting for me! My surgeon said my swelling was going down but not as much as he had hoped. The first time at my two week check up he said it was half gone and in a couple weeks would be 75-80% gone I believe. So maybe 40% this time if I had to guess. Maybe another 1# from fluid on me I think. He took from the love handles and they do seem bigger now than before. Just need to think about something else. Oh and I’m a caffeine freak. If you think I can be gripey now you should see me without caffeine in the mornings lol. Today my kid kept bringing me coffee and she is highly sensitive so I drink it so I don’t hurt her feelings. During the week I set it for 3 cups which is actually about 2.25 cups. I should really try to wean myself down though because headaches when I can’t have coffee really suck.

That's what I did when I weaned myself off of HAVING to have caffeine. I love coffee and tea, but want to drink it when I want it, not when it says I have to.

My pop doesn’t come in decaf but I recently saw a half caf coffee. When I need to buy more I’ll grab that. Hmm just bought a thing last week though. Maybe I’ll go back and get the decaf kind and just mix half and half. I only use two healing teaspoons full for a 5 cup pot. ‘For best results use a tablespoon per cup of coffee’. Yeah it’s way too strong and bitter for me that way! Literally dumped out half a cup and added half water the first time haha. Not sure what the caffeine is in two rounded teaspoons of coffee but I know I get 68-102mg from my Coke Zero cherry daily. Need to look that up and see what is considered a low amount of caffeine per day. I too hate when I ‘need’ caffeine. I don’t even realize it other than I get irritable and a headache, have a pop and all of a sudden feel better.

The amount of coffee you use to make 5 cups is probably less than what I use to make my one, so you're not getting a great deal of caffeine there. Oh well. Probably no good trying to dilute a coke. :)
14 Oct 18 by member: LZenn
No diluting coke haha but can dilute coffee more. Maybe it’s sugar withdrawal headaches if not from caffeine then. I’ve never thought to could up just sugar. The next time I get a headache I’ll try to drink coffee without sweetener or something else with no sugar to see.

Could be, even though I've not heard of getting a headache from not eating sugar. :)

On college we visited a lady who didn’t leave her house. One day she commented on the amount of sugar I ate (pop and candy bar every day when we would go visit). She asked to test my blood sugar one day after I’d eaten that to show me how high it would be and how bad sugar was for me. She was so surprised that she retested me. It was in the moderate range lol. She just knew it would be high. I do get labs done quarterly. Glucose has been as high as 105ish during chemo. Fasting is 93-99, if I’ve had Splenda or anything to eat it is always 96-99. My dr says this must be my normal range but my oncologist gets nervous because cancer feeds on sugar and higher chance of recurrence if a higher bf%. So far they think the headaches are allergy related but usually after a coke or two I’m good ;).

But Coke Zero wouldn't have sugar in it, right?
14 Oct 18 by member: LZenn
Hmmm no it wouldn’t. I used to drink regular coke or root beer (when I was tested by the lady). Now it’s coffee with Splenda, Coke Zero cherry, tea with Splenda, propel zero water etc. Occasionally a real coke, root beer, lemonade or sweet tea when we are in town and my usuals aren’t available. Hmm I’ll have to think on it then if it’s not caffeine or sugar.
