Well I took a month off of dieting. Re-starting tomorrow, trying to stay at 1800 - 2000 calories per week. being over 330 lbs and really a sit-down kind of guy the program says I can do 3100 per day. Staying at my goal calories should allow me to get back on track of for the 2 lbs per week weight loss and allow me to adjust back towards what the world says is healthy eating. Not a problem as long as all meals are prepared at home. Problem is we like to go out. Sooooooooooo, most places add lots of fat into the meals. This is why the taste so good eating out. And you can't get whole wheat pasta or gluten free pasta in my area yet. Although I am big as a cow (joke) I never liked eating like one. Growing up my mom was a avid baker. I have the same bug and sweet tooth. I love to bake, now the challenge is to bake but reduce calories. Now everyone knows the trick to making good corn bread is lots of extra sugar and of course cheesecakes you need cream cheese, butter and sugar... I think I did the math once a my cheesecake (actually Mom's) is something like 2000 calories for a normal slice. I will be trying low-fat cream cheese and sugar subs and low-fat sour cream... I won't use the eggbeaters did that once and ended up throwing it all out. Yuck. Being of German and Slavic background who doesn't like warm apple strudel drizzled with caramel and icing. Or a good fried pirogi smothered in fried onions with butter and sour cream. Anyway, dieting is no fun period. Not to mention healthy food costs so damn much. Anyway time to assemble the gingerbread house, my grand-niece wanted one for her party tomorrow.

cutting out carbs and sugars is the easy way to drop calories and replacing them with quality proteins and veggies. occasional treats while dieting in small portions is doable.
