I will try not to be so long-winded today. I packed better stuff (and by better I mean healthier) for lunch today. A WW yogurt (1 point), reduced fat string cheese (2), banana (2), and strawberries (1). My breakfast could have been better (I had Honey Bunches of Oats with fat free milk) but I used a small bowl to make sure it was portion-controlled. I feel okay with that. I plan on just drinking water after I finish my morning coffee.

I read once a week to a first grader whose class gets bussed in from one of the nearby public schools in Philadelphia. Today is my last day w/ her for the school year. We are having a party for them. She LOVES Hannah Montana so I got her an activity book of Miley stuff and put it in a themed gift bag to celebrate. I think she will be excited. It's sad though, I wish we worked with the same child throughout their elementary school years, kind of like a Big Brother/ Big Sister thing. Next school year I will have a new 1st grader.

I don't have a plan for dinner tonight. I think I will just do a big salad with some fresh shrimp and balsamic dressing. The weather here has been rainy and cold so it will be a great night for me to pop my exercise DVD in and get this program started (Cathy I know you will be happy to read that!!! :))

I was excited yesterday because one of the blogs I follow to save money had a post to get a FREE year long subscription to Cooking Light magazine. I hurried and was one of the first 500 to sign up so I will be getting a great magazine with healthy recipes for free. If I find anything especially good as I get them I will share the recipes on here.

THREE THINGS I'M GRATEFUL FOR TODAY:
1)Not much traffic today on the way to work
2)Teaching my mom how to smartly use coupons this weekend
3)Having time to read a non-school related book

Your lunch sounds great! Also, I don't know how many points your cereal was, but I get the Wegmans version on the Special K with Red Berries cereal - 1.5 cups with 1 cup of FF milk is 5 points. The Wegmans version tastes BETTER than the Special K one, and its cheaper. I think your near me - do you have a Wegmans close by? I love that you read to a 1st grader - My daughter isn't there yet (shes in her last year of Pre-k) but will be soon! Have a great day buddy!

How nice Chris to do that for her. I'm sure she will be thrilled. It's amazing how fast we all become attached to each other. Just look at this site and we have never even met the people we are attached too. You are right! I am so happy you are going to give Slim in a try. My girlfriend Bailyboo who is new to Fat Secret is starting it in the morning. Maybe you 2 can help each other stay focused. Good luck and take care!

I wish we had a Wegmans~ I've heard great things! We just have Giant and Acme closeby. But maybe I will try the store brand and see if it's better... I used to eat a lot of Special K! :)
