School starts in two weeks for my youngest DD. She is away this morning, at a sleepover with her BFF. It has been a nice relaxed morning, and I am loving it. Haven't had to drive anywhere yet!

Got some Stone Temple Pilots and Crash Kings concert tickets on Groupon for the end of the month. Should be a great time, and will be right before I start school!

Yup, I am going back to school, at the ripe old age of 55! I was accepted into a one year Post-Bac program at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts...plus got a scholarship and some grant money. I always wanted to study art, but I was a good student, and particularly at math and science. My dad was an engineer, and I guess he couldn't see spending money to have me study art. So I studied chemistry...and ended up hating it. But I went to an engineering school, so there were few options to change my major. I went into sales and marketing...couldn't stand the thought of working in a lab. After my kids were born, I left that career path, and started going into a more creative direction. Had two different businesses using my creative skills. But now, I am going to be finally doing what I always wanted to do. Immersing myself in my artwork, and getting the critiques and skills to push my work further.
It is going to be a challenge to manage the logistics of my daughter's schedule with mine. She goes to a charter school about a half an hour away, and there is no bus. We have relied on a carpool, and I am hoping that will still work out for all of us. My husband is about to start a new job as well, so he will have less flexibility to help out with her transportation.

I am so very thankful for:

The opportunity to go to art school!
My family, and their love and support.
A gorgeous day.
Bulletproof coffee and the energy it seems to be giving me. :)
FS and how easy it makes this process for me.
Healthy, real food, that is making me feel healthier every day.
I am here!

OH that is WONDERFUL you will go to MFA to study Art. I went to New England Conservatory of Music right down he road from the museum. Actually, I have an Master's in Music Performance and for ost of my early adult life performed and auditioned for a "real" symphony gig. Now, I am in my second career and have my wn business. Enjoy your new endeavor! It is a beautiful time...think Georgia O'Keefe, right?

Right! So what instrument(s) do you play?? It is a wonderful neighborhood to be spending the next year....and it will be a year of possibilities...enhanced by my new, healthier way of living.

My dad must be related to yours (mine pushed me into math/physics), but art has foremost in my heart. I also found my niche in marketing (media producer). What a small world. You are so fortunate! Enjoy it!

I play Oboe, and Native American Flutes. I am in my second career now though, so I play less often and less often for pay.
