So I don’t care for the bikes all that much but it’s only me and one lady for the program today and she prefers the bike. I’m writing this while ON the bike. That part is kinda awesome. Other than it’s hard to concentrate on this as my legs are on fire lol. 20 min, 112 cal burned, 3.77 miles, 55 rpm. Not great but not bad either lol. Happy Friday al!!

some exercise is better than none! once you get used to it 45 minutes will be a breeze and you will burn a lot more calories. at 19mph on my stationary I set it at level 8, I burn 425 calories. If I push it harder I can burn more. Riding a real bike pick up the speed and you can outpace that. but it takes time to build to that. Look at some of the numbers on fitness pal for different speeds on the real bike. It really can be great cardio burner

We are allowed 30 minutes for cardio. I can burn 210 on the treadmill in that time or 170 on the bike. BUT the bike works my legs where I feel it in hips and abdomen as well on the treadmill. This is one of those bike things where the pedals are out in front of you. I find it harder on the legs than a stationary bike but easier on the butt ;). (Seat is wide like a chair seat) I just think it’s awesome that I could play a game, read or check FS on it lol.

Jen, I pictured the snack I plan to have lol. Kicked it up from 3 to 11 then had to back to off to 9. I normally try to keep pace with whichever lady in the program is next to me. This time if I went that slow I would’ve burned like 100 cal and I had to get over 150 to earn my snack :).

I agree, some better than none; but biking is not load bearing exercise.

when you can't get to the gym, it is nice to have something to do on your off days.
