Kenna Morton's Journal, 06 August 2018

I’ve been reading a few posts from people who are at or near their “magic number” goal weight. An issue that I have identified in many people in the past is that they now do not know how to get off of the diet merrigoroumd and still maintain what they have worked so hard to achieve. Slipping into more of a lifestyle change approach is a different mindset than what some people do and it can be hard to flip that switch at the end of the game.

I guess you are right, there is some adjustment, but for me my diet is a lifestyle choice. that is really what is the best diet to go on something you can maintain after weight loss. the main difference is just adding enough calories to maintain your weight instead of losing weight. the ongoing exercise will help with maintenance too.

I love the food I eat, and I can't imagine going backwards once I reach my goal. It keeps getting better as I try new ways to prepare "clean" whole foods - and I'm just getting started!

just Be sure to someday delve into what you eat, the actual nutrition it offers your body— there is a long list of things that many people don’t know about that are essential to our health

I've been sensing that from the posts I've been reading too. For me, it's all about WOE change that's permanent - so I'm thinking that I'll just be able to afford a few more calories once I reach my goal. I'm not ever interested in going back to the way I used to eat - that's what made me unhealthy... (even though I thought eating a ton of veggies was super-healthy) I had already given up a load of the 'obvious carbs' though so I doubt that would be a challenge. I am very aware of the damage they do to my system. I figure I have a few months before I reach my goal as it stands, so i have time to research maintenance... Good luck with your goal!

Hi thenstar— I’m not a dieter just a bystander and observer who sticks my 2 cents in once in a while. I try to be proactive and try to keep those pesky pounds from creeping up.
