3:30 am Tuesday morning. I am still awake. VA gave me a sofa bed to sleep on seeing that it was after midnight begore ee git him in a permanent room here and home is over 80 miles away. Things looking up, since transferred my husband to the VA hospital, he's doing so much better already. Wonderful doctors here at Gainesville VA. Very caring respectful nurses and staff. My niece is still at Tampa area hospital, had lung surgery, they took her chest tubes out today. Told her she may go home Wednesday or Thursday. Try to see that I eat enough, hospital cafeterias are dangerous for diets. I got too low sugar tonight, was a hectic day and I didn't eat enough. Then I got hit with hypoglcimia low sweat/shakes, blurry vison. Took nearly 50 carbs before I came out of it. Still onky got less than 900 calories in todsy. Fine now but set up reminder alarms on my cell phone to make me pay better attention. I should know better. Step son leaves for Afghanistan today. He is thrilled we got his Dad transferred into the VA hospital befire he leaves. He needs to be very alert over there and nit be distracted by worrying about his dad.

Out of everything you posted, I'm most glad that your step-son won't have to be worried about his dad while he's serving our country. My eyes are a little leaky right now. I'm so sorry you've had your own health issues, but you're doing EVERYTHING right for your family.

My stepson is a great kid, although not really a kid any longer. He's smart and has a real soft spot for family. Every time he grts back to the states, no matter how little time he has he makes time to bring his family down to Florida to visit us.
