Not doing well at all. I had an injury on my foot and I'm not walking so I just ate everything in sight and didn't record any of it for almost a month now. I've been trying for about a week to get back in the habit but...I just can't seem to do anything. I know that the pain is part of what's getting in my way but I'm also back on roughly a billion different meds to make sure I don't get worse. I had to take a metric ton of "anti-everything under the sun" pills and that always makes me sick to my stomach so back on my anti-nausea pills as well and my pulmonologist added another pill to my regimen as well. If "nothing" is going wrong I take about 11 pills a day not counting pain meds. But when one thing goes wrong with my body, all the things go wrong so I end up taking more like 18-20 (again not counting pain meds) so...ugh. I'm exhausted just getting out of bed, I haven't showered for 3-4 days (can't quite remember), and all I can do is walk the length of my apartment to pee, drink, or eat. I'm not really moving much at all. So today I woke up and before I even got out of bed I did about 15 reps of 6 different arm exercises and I am going to freaking exercise even if I have to do it all in bed! Once again I hate how I feel! I need to do something, something has to change!

Quick escape is to rid the house of quick foods, and start cooking good keto meals. The rapid transformation to happier days, makes it all worth it. Good luck.

Sorry to hear about added foot injury. I'm definitely not in the same boat with meds and history per bio - but pain is keeping me from activity too and it sucks big time. Good for you for arm exercises in bed! Walking to kitchen and back is really painful to both feet and one knee, plus bursitis both shoulders and tendonitis both elbows - docs unclear what joint issue I have. Trying to figure out what I can do that doesn't make everything worse. So keep doing what you can do without yours worse too. I tell myself to just play the hand I was dealt and make the game as fun as possible while setting myself up to win:)

I am not on meds either but I do understand not being physically able to do much including many days of not even being able to get out of bed - all you can do is your best and do NOT be hard on yourself - it doesn't help anything! All the best

Sorry to hear you are going through this! Good job for the arm exercises. Any type of physical activity, even if small, helps to get you back on track. Do whatever you can but make sure you don’t add more injury to yourself. Stock up on healthy snacks and fruits at home and at work. I know a lot are following the keto diet and as much as it helps drop weight fast, most weight is from losing muscle mass which you do not need. I got my resting metablic rate tested last week and was given the amount of calories I need to sustain daily activities and now in a caloric deficit but not following a keto diet. Slow weight loss will help you keep weight off and you need carbs, proteins and fats in your diet. A balance of everything will help and don’t be too harsh on yourself. We all fall off the wagon many times, just do your best to get back on! Best of luck!

Don’t give up on yourself! Little by little you’ll get there!

Sounds like you are getting back on track with the exercises. Tomorrow morning try adding some leg lifts too :). Any movement is better than no movement and if you keep increasing it, even if slowly, you’ll keep making progress ;).

I'm sad to hear of your pain, I hope you begin to feel better very soon. I've read all the comments and I would definitely suggest you take on board what Nivi2013 suggests! I also suffer with joint pain in my knees hips and lower spine. I started classes twice a week at my local Wellbeing Centre called Escape Pain. We discuss ways to help ourselves such as, nutrition, pain relief, exercise etc.. We then do 40 minutes gentle stretching exercises using exercise bands to help strengthen the muscles in our back and legs. The people in the group all have different stages of arthritis and joint problems, some have had replacement knees, hips etc. What I've found is that even though at first it's painful doing the exercise, after 4 weeks I'm now finding it easier to walk and feel much better in myself, the exercise has lifted my depression and made me optimistic for the future! If you take baby steps, and give yourself an exercise goal each day, I'm sure it will help your pain and lift your spirit! It may even help you to get off some of your meds! As for nutrition, aim to lose 1 to 2lbs a week, you can eat everything in moderation, you know what's good for you and what's not. Allow yourself a treat now and again, it will keep you going! Count your calories and write everything down in your Fatsecret Food Diary. If I can do it, I know you can! Good luck, I'm cheering you on! 🌺😊🌺
