Good Friday Morning buddies!! No weigh-in today as I am away from home, visiting my very dearest friend!! I have no idea what the scale might say but I know that I am being fairly reasonable with my eating, enjoying myself but not going crazy, and SHE says I look skinnier every time she sees me!! She's the kind of friend who always tells me the truth so if she says I look good I must!! LOL!!
I'm having a great time with my friend. We've known each other for almost 30 years now, went to graduate school together, have seen each other through many changes in our respective lives. We can hang out and do 'nothing' and have fun. Yesterday we talked and talked and talked and talked and talked ... about work, life, so many things. It was wonderful. Then we decided to run to town for a few things. We bought vodka to experiment with drinks later. I learned something new about her ... she used to bartend and went to the American School of Bartending in New York City ... many moons ago!!! So we played with some recipes on the back of a box of mini-vodka bottles and decided we liked cosmopolitans!!! It was a lot of fun making the drinks. I have no idea what we'll do today ... but whatever it is I know that we'll have a fun time together.
The weather has really turned cold and wet here. There have been snow flurries and lots of rain and overcast skies. Difficult to believe that tomorrow is MAY!!! Holy smokes!!! My 'baby' will be 27 years old on May 5th. My how the years do fly by.
I am grateful for much ...
1. the time to spend with my friend
2. being able to talk and talk and talk and know that I can be myself
3. so far FIL is doing okay following his open heart surgery
4. silly movies
5. dogs!!!
I hope you all are doing well ... being good to yourselves ... and finding the blessings in your own lives. I will be interesting to see what the scale says Sunday morning when I get back home!! Whatever it will be it will be ... and I will still be here ... on this journey with all of you!!!

Hey Moose! Sorry i didn't have a chance yet to read your journal, i was playing in the mud...the snow is melting so fast, you should see the mess round here! Sounds like you had quite a party last night with the cosmopolitans! Enjoy your time with your friend, it's sooo good to spend time just talking and laughing. take care!

Hi moose: Replied to your post on my journal. I forgot that it was to your friend's place and not that training conference that you were off to. A good friend is so rare, and as special as anyone else in life. I'm very happy that you are both able to be together and enjoying yourselves so much. Wishing you all have a great weekend! :-)

Hey Noose! My baby Ashley will be 19 on May 5th. How do you like that. lol This will be the first birthday I will miss because she will be in Italy. Makes it that much harder for me. I love cosmo's too. Yummy and we are so "cosmopolitan" aren't we? lol Have a great evening.

Moose, don't cry ;-( I don't get a chance to get into FS until after dinner usually. I post foods or weight but don't have time to read any journals til evening. I am soooo glad you are enjoying yourself with your friend. Friends like that are rare. Have the very best time, eat well and smart, enjoy the drinks :-) and we will all hear from you when you get back. Didn't forget you good friend. Don't you worry about that a bit!!!!

Cathy that is so funny our babies were born on the same day!!! Well not the same year but still!!! Cinco de Mayo babies!!! We had more cosmos tonight ... and watched Avatar (Blue Ray DVD) ... it was fun!! Cindy ... I have not eaten the Carl's Jr. Burger yet ... but I will be driving through a town that has a Carl's Jr. in it on my way home tomorrow so there is still hope!! LOL!!! I had something called a Sticky Finger Salad for dinner last night. It was quite yummy!!! And probably not all that 'healthy'!! Oh well.
