What sort of marinade or seasoning did you use?

@socalpam I’ve just been using a dry steak rub, homemade. But “mrs. dash” brand should do, or any other combo of spices you like. I heat a bit of olive oil in the skillet, sear the steak to the temperature of my liking and top it off with homemade chimichurri sauce, which is a well known Argentinian steak sauce. Classic recipes should be plentiful on the Internet, it’s very simple. Involves fresh garlic, Fresh chopped parsley, crushed red pepper, oregano, red wine vinegar mixed in food processor, then topped off with 1/2 of extra virgin olive oil and salt and pepper. Usually a tbsps or two is plenty to top off any dish. 1 tbsp = 40cals. Broccoli is just steamed and served along side, soaks up the chimichurri sauce and needs no additional seasoning.

That sounds really good! I'm not very "spicy" and have been kind of stuck at garlic salt. I need to get rid of sodium, and know I'll still want some added flavor. Your recipe sounds really good (and easy to make!)

You do need some good fats to lose.

Fat is not the enemy... its sugar and carbs. Lean beef at 5-10% fat is better than zero believe me as Kherman says you need fat for multiple reasons including nutrition absorption and as a mechanism to loose weight.

Although the dish looks divine you could do with an avocado & pear salad perhaps with blue cheese alongside .. those fats would actually help your diet!

@bandrai I enjoy healthy proteins of all sorts. I like organic smoked salmon, you should try it yourself. Eating the way I do has helped me stay healthy throughout my life. My weight gain was a result of injury and lack of activity, not my nutrition. Though adjustments in all areas are necessary when making life changes in general I think. I only consume things like avocado for breakfast, it’s much harder for the body to breakdown fat from avocado during the evening, than fat from the steak I had, additionally, the steak I had was trimmed to zero % fat. Overall, I think suggestions are a good thing, but don’t assume what works for you will work for others. My nutrition and lifestyle, (and I’m not “dieting”) have contributed to me healthily losing 22lbs in 6 weeks. I think I’m doing fantastic!
