I don't think I completely got away with eating that chocolate chip cookie, after all. This morning I had gained 0.4 lbs. I still think that is pretty good. We will see how tomorrow's weigh in goes. The ketone strip says I am in a solid state of ketosis, so halleluiah.

I have a personal goal to lose 12 lbs. before the end of August. I am going to step it up on my adherance to my challenge mini goals. I mean, why do I join a challenge if I am just going to fail the mini challenges every week?

Thats pretty good if you can eat a cookie and still stay in ketosis. You must of balanced it out with cutting other carbs.

And it was one of those BIG cookies like the ones that come in a personal pan pizza pan. I had some other veggies that day but not many, and no other carbs.

Hey Erin...just wanted to say what a great job you are doing, (judging by your weigh in's...your weight is coming down nicely! No more cookies, though...that WiLL eventually bite you in the butt, if you're not careful!

@jsfantome, you have a point there, hehe. I could definitely lose weight faster if I didn't indulge in foods that aren't healthy and only cause setbacks. Plus, the whole idea of going through all this is to train myself into eating habits that will keep me healthy the rest of my life. On the other hand... once in a while, if it helps my morale to have a little treat and keeps me from falling off the wagon completey, I think it can be worked into the program. I expect that even once I transition to maintenance, I will have those occasional spike days. As long as the rest of the days are controlled, it should work out. I was losing weight a little too fast at first, in any case. I am glad to be settling in to a more gradual drop. Maybe that will help with the loose skin. This diet has been so great from the aspect that I am rarely hungry and I lose weight so quickly. Before this diet started I would have told anyone that life without bread or pasta was not worth living! Now I don't even miss it at all. So, no more cookies for at least 2 weeks, and maybe then it will be something else I choose to indulge in. The key is being in control of the choices I make and having the knowledge to see the consequences of those actions and accept them or make a different choice.

I agree with Erin a naughty treat once or twice a month keeps me sane....as sane as sane can be lol!!!
