Diana 1234's Journal, 10 November 2023

I'm up but part is I wasn't even logging or eating well for a few days, had surgery and have all those bodily things that go along with that, and I'm not exercising yet either. We came home yesterday. It was a stressful drive as we saw an accident near Barstow, Ca in which a car tried to pass on the shoulder and crashed into a bridge. They had flight for life there so I'm sure it was serious. Traffic was at a standstill for over an hour and then at a crawl after that. A 5.5 hour trip turned into an 8 hour trip. I was pretty exhausted.
So far I'm able to stay away from opioids and just take Ibuprofen 800s. It's painful but it's not unbearable. I tire very quickly but I guess that's normal.
Just want to say one more time how much I appreciate your well wishes and prayers. You all made me feel special!

I got stuck in a traffic jam like that on my way home from my last trip to Oregon. Even when you carefully plan a,road trip there are accidents out in the middle of nowhere. I bet you are glad to be home and can now get on with your life !

Diana, glad you are home, that makes a difference in recovery because home is where you get your most restful sleep. You just had heart surgery.....that's a really big deal!!! The simple act of making an eight hour trip home by car is an amazing feat! Your body has just come through a traumatic event that will require every nutrient you can give it to heal itself LOL, I know you know that, but I'm making a point about your resilience, if it were me having heart surgery, the word exercising would not pass my lips for the first 30 days post surgery....You are amazing!! My idea of movement after surgery was more along the lines of getting dressed and moving from the bedroom to the living room and to the bathroom!!!

Happy you are home 🏡 😊 Let the healing begin! Be patient with yourself & go slowly. You'll be back to your normal routine before you know it.

Fritzy, Yea it was a stressful drive for both Joe and myself. He has been such a good caregiver! I got up this morning and it was 44 degrees outside. Went in bathroom and he was making me a fire when I came out. Such a sweetheart!💜💜💜. Sara, ddrud, thank you!💕💕. Sherrye, thank you. I’m gonna follow Drs orders and rest. I might do a couple loads of laundry but that’s it.💜💜

Debra, I will be taking it slow. I do tire easily so can’t overextend. Starting next week I’m ok’d to start walking. Slow and steady. In meantime I’m going to watch diet. I feel better when I eat healthier. 💜💜

Praying for your patience to be bolstered. I know that it will be difficult to wait until your body is ready for everything you want to do.

I’m glad you’re recovering at home, Diana. It’s hard to really be able to rest away from your own home and bed.
