mosiarmstrong's Journal, 23 September 2021

Turns out I wasn't getting enough fiber to compensate for the extra protein I was eating so I was retaining quite a bit of waste weight. Started taking plain psyllium yesterday and well, you see the results. When I passed it, my gut didn't have that "tight" feeling anymore and I feel like I have a bit more energy.

On the flip side, plain psyllium doesn't taste great and I have to muscle through it unless I put it in a smoothie. Anyone have suggestions for a fiber supplement that doesn't have a lot of sugar, tastes good (or is tasteless) and if possible, has probiotics? It doesn't have to be psyllium either. Thanks for all the love guys!

Flax seed works for me, or you could try eating some prunes if you can handle the taste and texture

Brooklyn, you still have access to fresh greens right? cut your fruit smoothie with greens. You'll get sweetness from your fruit. Greens will give extra vitamins & antioxidants. Flu season is coming doesn't hurt to get more veggies in.

Very interesting! After reading your post I believe I'm deficient in fiber as well

medjool dates & prunes are great, but they are dried fruit. High in sugar for a low carb dieter.

I take magnesium - good for sore muscles, and really helps with other, er, issues.

Chia seed is a great add to anything, including smoothies. Same for hemp hearts.

Metamucil is good. Or, you can down-grade like I do and get EQUATE Premium Daily Fiber 100% Natural Psyllium Husk. Sugar-Free, Orange Smooth Naturally Flavored. I get mine @Walmart or any Pharmacy: Walgreen's, CVS, Rite Aid, etc. I just mix it w/8 oz. of h2o & down the hatch everyday. It does make me feel better and fuller longer more often than not.
