Apparently the Corned Beef I had for dinner (salt) caused the extra water I consumed to hang around. Or it may have been the 300 calories of Butter Pecan ice cream I had for dessert. I actually ate fewer calories overall for the day.

My sleep was interrupted last night....it was very windy & some time during the night I heard a distant boom & our power went out. I thought a transformer blew but Hubby says he saw evidence of a tree down on electric lines up our road when he went out for his AM walk. I tried to go back to sleep & was somewhat successful til he woke up a bit later, realized the power was out & got out of bed. A little later our security alarm started chirping...making me need to pee. I got up, took care of business then disarmed the alarm. Of course as I'm dozing Hubby comes back to bed...then the power comes back on. Eventually I did go back to sleep but I had some weird dreams last night.

It's quite a bit colder today...it was almost 70 two days ago...high in the 40's today & colder overnight. The sun is shining...so that's a plus.

More cleanup today...removed more holiday greenery from various spots & the tablecloth & runner from the dining room table . Slow but sure, it's getting back to normal. A couple of loads of laundry & all the plants got watered. Since there's not a lot going on, there's no rush.

Apparently when I felt under the weather the beginning of Jan. I had Covid. My symptoms were so minimal, I didn't get tested at the time....just stayed home. I felt tired & achy, had little appetite (I could still smell & taste my food) & some headache (remedied with Ibuprofen). Absolutely no fever or trouble breathing. I got an antibody test on Monday & it was positive. I've talked to a few people recently that had a similar experience with it...our Vet, my doctor's nurse. Hubby had an actual test this week that came back negative. He's going for an antibody test tomorrow. He had similar symptoms (also no fever or breathing issues) but had cold chills, too. He's 77 years old. Guess it does pay to be healthy.

Meatballs on noodles planned for dinner.

I wondered when you said it- with how active you have remained- if it wasn't likely covid. I am glad that you came out of it OK. I do think that being healthy plays a part but I also know that it isn't always the case. Seems to pick and choose how it affects individuals and even the healthiest have had a horrible time and lasting effects. Anyhow- I am glad you are recovered so I can continue to read your journal and see your pics. 💗💗💗

Thank you DP 🧡 I hesitated to say much. I know it's pretty controversial how different people are dealing with things. For my mental health, I have chosen to get out into the world when I need or want to. I've been cautious....we still avoid crowds, we mask up, use our hand sanitizer, don't get elbow to elbow with folks at the grocery store. And we chose to see and hug family upon occasion. We still spend many days at home...just Hubby & I. I have always had a pretty strong immune system and felt I would be OK if I did get it. I worried more about Hubby, but he's also pretty healthy for an old guy 😊

Thanks for sharing. I'm glad neither of you were severely affected. Good to confirm what everyone has been saying : best to be cautious, because even with mild/unclear symptoms one isn't even sure are symptoms, you could be infected.

Agree with DP. Some of the narrative around how it's only a risk for "unhealthy" people pushed by some celebrity doctors (who conveniently started selling books about how to lose weight fast) was infuriating and also eye-opening for me. Yes, we should give ourselves the best chance we can by improving our health within our limits, but we should also realize a lot is out of our control and be humble about that.

LC, when I was actually sick I stayed home. I wasn't sure what I had,so didn't want to risk infecting others. But, before and after I've tried to observe the safety protocols. I totally get it that just because I was lucky to not get very ill there are many that do.

Sherrye, corn beef is always worth a little extra gain!! Sounds like you had an interesting night. I worry about my husband more than I. I am very lucky because I had stocked up on the N 95s for forest fires because we always seem to be involved with one. Now my husband works in an office with people from China and it scares the crap out of me, so those masks are only for him and I want him to wear them as much as possible. He says he holds his breath when anyone passes him. 😁😁😁😁😁😁 I just hope he makes it through it as now the virus is mutating and this is one very scary virus anyway. I’m so happy that you have antibodies and didn’t even barely know you had the flu. My friend’s parents both got it at the same time and they are elderly with tons of health problems. They were miserable, but they stayed at home and are slowly recovering. I feel like if they can do it other people can do it too. Yet like Chèvre said it’s attacking everybody differently, And not even doctors are sure why people are affected so differently. But this is for sure don’t breathe in other people’s exhale - don’t let your hands get close to your mouth or your eyes don’t touch your face and keep your hands clean in case you do. The virus has to get in somehow and that’s through the mouth - nose - or eyes. So it’s good news, just be careful careful careful! OK I’m through with my book.😁
