Day 4 of a planned 4 days of ‘no solid food’ fasting

I need to 🏃🏾‍♂️ run today. I don’t think I will make it 🤦🏾‍♂️. I have not run in nearly 3 weeks!

I’ve been sick 🤒

This is why I think my weight loss this week has been “sub-par”. That’s the story I’m going with 😉

However, this week has been a total success because I didn’t go on an 'eating binge'. I have been eating so many days, because of my recent vacation and the holiday, that I got used to eating *most days*.

When I look at my numbers, I lose weight when I have long stretches of days where I don’t binge eat, and I just simply stick-to-the-plan 7 days a week.

However, that won’t work for me now because I ‘mentally’ cannot handle ‘liquids only’ 7 days a week. I mean I could because I have done it in the past, but, I was obese back then. The fear of being obese all my life provided the motivation to ‘mentally’ dig in and fast.

This morning, I am hovering around 6 pounds above BMI weight, so, I have zero motivation to work that hard…

😎 Life is Good! Have a great day everyone!

I think you have put your finger on why it is harder to maintain than to lose. But somehow we still have to find motivation because we likely cannot eat that much on our lower weigh and it is as hard to keep at it as it was to lose, in reality

I struggle with maintaining; seems I need to do a correction every 2 or 3 weeks. I weigh once a week, and if I'm up by more than 3 lbs, I take action. I prefer a few days with zero carbs/low calories over fasting.

My WOE has really been focused on finding the middle ground. I’ve been all or nothing over the last 5 years. In the last 12 months, I feel like I’ve truly found level. I drink beer sometimes, I eat pizza sometimes, I eat burgers sometimes. I don’t think I can ever go where Chris and Diablo go again. Way too much food and I know how that amount of food makes me feel. I don’t want to feel like that again and I don’t want to weigh nearly 300 lbs again.

@liv001 - Yes, exactly. So far it seems my 'motivation' has been going back and forth between 'leeting go' then going "Oh Damn! I'm gonna get fat again!" Haha

@gz9gjg - Yes, for me "zero carbs/low calories" gives the same results as strait water fasting (I can only lose so much fat and water weight in a day). I just tend to 'stick to the plan' better when I fast :)

@love2educate - I guess my 'middle ground' is 5 days on and 2 days off per week... I just keep 'screweing up the plan' 🤦🏾‍♂️😜

I hear ya man. I used to think I was there and I kept screwing up. I just wasn’t quite there yet 😂

Being sick changes things. You always figure it out and know how to adjust. 👍

@Becc@ - Thanks! I am feeling much better. This weekend I plan to hit the gym both days (@CrashtestDawnie is starting to make fun of me for slacking!), and run...
